Dens in dente, also known as dens invaginatus and dilated compound odontoma, is a malformation that can occur on primary, permanent, or supernumerary teeth that is characterized by a deep invagination of the surface of a crown or root covered with enamel. A study is made of the experience gained with the Child Oral Care Program (Plan de Atención Dental Infantil, PADI) in the Service of Stomatology of Valencia University General Hospital (Valencia, Spain) after four years in operation (July 2003 - July 2007). Study design: The sample comprised 2626 children between 5-14 years of age, pertaining to department 9 of the Valencian public health system. The initial presentation of a cholangiocarcinoma (CC) as trismus due to metastasis to the parotid gland is extremely rare and no previous reports have been found in the literature. A 29-year-old woman presented trismus that initiated 2 months before admission, just after superior left third molar extraction. Physical examination revealed severe trismus and a mass in the parotid gland. Computed tomography (CT) showed a heterogeneous mass in the left parotid gland. The next day she presented jaundice, bilirubinuria, and fever, followed by massive bleeding, intravascular disseminated coagulation, and respiratory insufficiency. Two days later she died. Infected lingual osseous choristoma : report of a case and review of the literature

Osseous choristoma is a rare, benign lesion of the oral cavity occurring usually in the tongue. It appears as a tumorous mass of normal bony structure with mature cells in an ectopic position. The case of a 72 years Caucasian male is presented and analyzed along with 52 similar cases reported in the English literature between 1967 and 2007. Lingual choristoma shows a female predilection, whereas the commonest anatomic location is the posterior third of the tongue, occurring at or close to the foramen caecum and the circumvallate papillae. Background: Was to describe 14 cases of a proliferative verrucous leukoplakia as a clinical evolution of oral lichen planus. Material and Methods: The clinical and histopathological characteristics of 14 cases of OLP that progress towards a plaque-like and verrucous form were indicated, with monitoring over a period of six to 24.3 years. Results: The female/male ratio was 11/3, (78.6 and 21.4%). The mean age when the first biopsy was undertaken was 56.4 years old. None of the patients smoked during the study. Taurodontism can be defined as a change in tooth shape caused by the failure of Hertwig’s epithelial sheath diaphragm to invaginate at the proper horizontal level. An electronic search was made in the Pubmed-Medline database up to January 2014 using the key search terms "multiple supernumerary teeth" (n=279), "prevalence supernume rary teeth" (n=361), and "supernumerary teeth" (n=2412).
