Tricuspid valve repair with the Cardioband system: two-year outcomes of the multicentre, prospective TRI-REPAIR study

AIMS: Tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is associated with high morbidity and mortality rates with limited treatment options. We report one- and two-year outcomes of the Cardioband tricuspid valve reconstruction system in the treatment of ≥moderate functional TR in the TRI-REPAIR study. METHODS AND RESULTS: Thirty patients were enrolled in this single-arm, multicentre, prospective study. Patients were evaluated as having ≥moderate, symptomatic functional TR and deemed inoperable due to unacceptable surgical risk. Space of signatures as inverse limits of Carnot groups

We formalize the notion of limit of an inverse system of metric spaces with 1-Lipschitz projections having unbounded fibers. The construction is applied to the sequence of free Carnot groups of fixed rank n and increasing step. In this case, the limit space is in correspondence with the space of signatures of rectifiable paths in ℝn, as introduced by Chen. Hambly-Lyons’s result on the uniqueness of signature implies that this space is a geodesic metric tree. As a particular consequence we deduce that every path in ℝn can be approximated by projections of some geodesics in some Carnot group of rank n, giving an evidence that the complexity of sub-Riemannian geodesics increases with the step.…

We propose a non-parametric methodology to realize abstraction images.The redundant wavelet "a trous" algorithm is applied for details detection.An multi-scale circular median filter is used as a smoothing filter.The proposed algorithm is simple and fast on low-cost entry-level hardware. Abstraction in computer graphics defines a procedure that discriminates the essential information that is worth keeping. Molecular Topology (M.T.) has demonstrated its efficiency in the prediction of many experimental parameters. The application of the topological indices to the prediction of pharmacological properties, and, above all, to its inverse problem, the drug design, is particularly interesting [1,2]. Several attempts to explain the reasons of such efficiency have been carried out [3,4]. So far, we are not close to a definitive answer.

In the framework of preference rankings, the interest can lie in finding which predictors and which interactions are able to explain the observed preference structures. The possibility to derive consensus measures using a classification tree represents a novelty and an important tool, given its easy interpretability. This work proposes the use of a univariate decision tree for ranking data based on the weighted Kemeny distance. The performance of the methodology will be shown by using a real dataset about university rankings.

This study examines the indirect effect of job satisfaction on the relationship between emotional intelligence and life satisfaction among teachers during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland. A sample of 322 teachers aged 23–71 (M = 45.37, SD = 8.99) participated in a cross-sectional online survey.
