The euryhaline rotifer Brachionus is a complex of sibling species. Although many investigations have been carried out in the past, the relationships among the Spanish species, the tropical SS strains and the clusters previously described, remained unknown. In this study, allozyme data for five populations from the tropics and two from Spanish lagoons — one of them B. ibericus and the other B. rotundiformis — were combined with data from the previous studies. Branch-and-cut algorithms for the vehicle routing problem with trailers and transshipments

This article studies the vehicle routing problem with trailers and transshipments VRPTT, a practically relevant, but challenging, generalization of the classical vehicle routing problem. Circuit-Elimination based Link-State Routing in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks

2007

Circuit-elimination based connected dominating set formation is an efficient technique for reducing routing overhead in mobile ad hoc networks. In this paper, we propose a new message dissemination algorithm which utilizes such techniques to reduce the number of nodes that generate or forward link state advertisements in link state routing protocols. Simulation results with both static and dynamic network topologies demonstrate the potential of the proposed algorithm to reduce routing overhead, compared with a benchmark link state routing protocol, OLSR.

Spatio‐temporal classification in point patterns under the presence of clutter

We consider the problem of detection of features in the presence of clutter for spatio-temporal point patterns. In previous studies, related to the spatial context, Kth nearest-neighbor distances to classify points between clutter and features. In particular, a mixture of distributions whose parameters were estimated using an expectation-maximization algorithm. This paper extends this methodology to the spatio-temporal context by considering the properties of the spatio-temporal Kth nearest-neighbor distances. BGSA: a bit-parallel global sequence alignment toolkit for multi-core and many-core architectures

Abstract Motivation Modern bioinformatics tools for analyzing large-scale NGS datasets often need to include fast implementations of core sequence alignment algorithms in order to achieve reasonable execution times. We address this need by presenting the BGSA toolkit for optimized implementations of popular bit-parallel global pairwise alignment algorithms on modern microprocessors.
