Exploiting the topographic information in a PDM-based conceptual hydrological model

In this work, a conceptual lumped model was developed to simulate runoff and analyze hydrological processes with the goal of incorporating the morphological information into a probability-distributed model (PDM). PDMs usually describe the process of runoff generation as the result of soil saturation excess caused by precipitation with soil storage capacity represented by a spatially distributed quantity and described by a probability distribution. Evaluation of the SEDD model for predicting sediment yield at the Sicilian experimental SPA2 basin

In this paper a spatially distributed model of the hillslope sediment delivery processes, named the sediment delivery distributed (SEDD) model, is initially reviewed; the model takes into account the sediment delivery processes due to both the hillslope sediment transport and the effects of slope curvature. Length Slope Factors for applying the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation at Basin Scale in Southern Italy

In this paper, for a basin divided into morphological units, a distributed model based on the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE), with different expressions for the topographic factors, and on the sediment delivery ratio of each morphological unit is used. At first, the caesium-137 data available from a Sicilian basin are calibrated with two different models [the Proportional Method (PM), the Simplified Mass Balance (SMB) model] to provide net soil loss data for each morphological unit. Erosion rates and sediment budgets in vineyards at 1-m resolution based on stock unearthing (Burgundy, France).

Abstract A new and simple method is developed to efficiently quantify erosion and deposition rates based on stock unearthing measurements. This is applicable to spatial scales ranging from plot to hillslopes, and to time scales ranging from single hydrologic events to centennial scales. The method is applied to a plot area on vineyard hillslopes in Burgundy (Monthelie, France), with measurement of 4328 vine plants. A sediment budget established at the plot scale shows a mean soil lowering of 3.44 ± 1 cm over 20 years, involving a minimal erosion rate of 1.7 ± 0.5 mm yr − 1 . Summary Knowledge of initial conditions is very important to correctly model the basin response at the storm event scale. Of particular interest is the influence of topography and soil type on the principal hydrologic variables and runoff generation mechanisms as a function of antecedent wetness conditions. Analysis of the IEEE 802.11e EDCA Under Statistical Traffic

Many models have been proposed to analyze the performance of the IEEE 802.11 distributed coordination function (DCF) and the IEEE 802.11e enhanced distributed coordination function (EDCA) under saturation condition. To analyze DCF under statistical traffic, Foh and Zukerman introduce a model that uses Markovian Framework to compute the throughput and delay performance. In this paper, we analyze the protocol service time of EDCA mechanism and introduce a model to analyze EDCA under statistical traffic using Markovian Framework. Using this model, we analyze the throughput and delay performance of EDCA mechanism under statistical traffic.
