Isolation and characterization of microsatellite markers in the liver fluke (Fasciola hepatica)

PRIMER NOTE; International audience; Six microsatellite markers were isolated from Fasciola hepatica, a re-emerging parasite that causes important veterinary and public health problems. In a sample of 52 liver flukes from a region of hyperendemicity (Bolivian Altiplano), five microsatellite were polymorphic. Our results showed that liver flukes present important genetic variability, suggesting a preferential outcrossing reproduction mode for this hermaphroditic parasite.

Chemoselective, Substrate-directed Fluorination of Functionalized Cyclopentane β-Amino Acids

This work describes a substrate-directed fluorination of some highly functionalized cyclopentane derivatives. The cyclic products incorporating CH2 F or CHF2 moieties in their structure have been synthesized from diexo- or diendo-norbornene β-amino acids following a stereocontrolled strategy. The synthetic study was based on an oxidative transformation of the ring carbon-carbon double bond of the norbornene β-amino acids, followed by transformation of the resulted "all cis" and "trans" diformyl intermediates by fluorination with "chemodifferentiation".

Työn teoriaosuudessa käsitellään kulttuurienvälisen viestinnän ja monimuotoisuuden johtamisen teoriaa sekä monikulttuurisuutta ja työperäistä maahanmuuttoa Suomessa ja Etelä-Pohjanmaalla. Tämän tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli tutkia opettajien ja opettajaopiskelijoiden näkemyksiä kulttuurisesta moninaisuudesta. Näkemysten perustan selvittämiseksi tutkittiin tapoja, joilla osallistujat kuvaavat ilmiötä sekä kartoitettiin osallistujien käsitykseen vaikuttaneita kokemuksia. Tutkimus on lähestymistavaltaan fenomenografinen. Tutkimusaineisto kerättiin sähköisellä kyselylomakkeella mahdollisimman suuren osallistujamäärän takaamiseksi. Lopullinen osallistujajoukko koostui 14 opettajasta ja 15 opiskelijasta. Aineisto analysoitiin sisällönanalyysin keinoin luokittelemalla vastausten sisällöt teemoittain.
