Resumen: Este articulo analiza los usos de los testimonios de la represion en Chile, desde los anos setenta hasta finales de la decada pasada. De hecho, los usos sociales del testimonio han ido transformandose en paralelo a los sentidos sociales que iban produciendose en Chile (y en el exilio) sobre la naturaleza de la represion y la dictadura militar. En ese sentido, analizar como los testimonios han sido usados por los movimientos sociales, asociaciones y por las politicas publicas de memoria implica tambien analizar los sentidos sociales sobre la violencia politica a los que se han vinculado y que han contribuido a consolidar o cuestionar. Performing ethnography and ethnicity : an early documentation of Finnish immigrants in Nordiska museet

This article discusses the first project of the Nordic Museum in Stockholm, Sweden, dealing with immigrants. It was carried out between 1972 and 1990, and it produced material based on interviews, participant observation, photographs and other written and visual sources. The article first examines why and how this extensive research project was carried out and then discusses the documentation project as performance. The project was an early attempt to document the contemporary lives of people through fieldwork, although the original aim of this pioneering project was merely to create and preserve ethnic identity by documenting “authentic” Finnish characteristics. This essay and the photographs examine visual traces of irregular mobility in the border landscape between Italy and France. The ruined buildings and objects witness decades of movement of undocumented people on this old migrant path across the mountains. By taking the theoretical concept of multidirectional memory (Rothberg 2009) the essay argues that the Path of Hope can be thought of as a memory site through which the issues of migration in contemporary Europe can be seen in a more sustainable light. This article develops and extends the idea of cosmopolitan solidarity to temporality through a case study of archival activism and participatory film-making. It examines mediated witnessing within the Italian online audiovisual archive Archivio delle memorie migranti, which documents and archives the experiences of contemporary migrants in Italy. The moral basis of Archivio delle memorie migranti is cosmopolitan solidarity, which is usually understood as a practice that crosses spatial and communal boundaries. The 1980s are characterized by rapid development of digitization process and research of digital libraries. In 1994 Latvia was also involved in this process with the first attempt to digitize the materials of high demand and in poor physical condition at the Latvian Academic Library. In 1998 the digitization process was launched at the National Library of Latvia. 3D survey and modelling of Cultural Heritage allow to store a great deal of 3D data that can be managed for different purposes. 3D models can be used for documentation, restoration and knowledge of historic architectures and monuments. In this work, a 3D survey of the main portico of the Cathedral of Monreale (Palermo, Italy) was carried out. The paper presents the data acquisition process and the 3D modelling phase.
