On the classification of accidental symmetries of the two Higgs doublet model potential

2011

Recently, it has been shown [arXiv:1106.3482] that the two-Higgs-doublet-model potential may exhibit a maximum of 13 distinct accidental symmetries. Such a classification is based on a six-dimensional bilinear scalar field formalism realizing the SO(1,5) symmetry group. This note presents the transformation relations for each of the 13 symmetries in the original scalar field space and their one-to-one correspondence to the space of scalar bilinears, thereby providing firm support for the completeness of the classification.

Production and decays of supersymmetric Higgs bosons in spontaneously brokenRparity

2005

We study the mass spectra, production and decay properties of the lightest supersymmetric CP-even and CP-odd Higgs bosons in models with spontaneously broken R-parity (SBRP). We compare the resulting mass spectra with expectations of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), stressing that the model obeys the upper bound on the lightest CP-even Higgs boson mass. We discuss how the presence of the additional scalar singlet states affects the Higgs production cross sections, both for the Bjorken process and the "associated production". The main phenomenological novelty with respect to the MSSM comes from the fact that the spontaneous breaking of lepton number leads to the existence of…

Constraints on the Aligned Two-Higgs-Doublet Model and CP violation

2010

The Aligned Two-Higgs-Doublet Model (A2HDM) [Pich A. and Tuzon P. Yukawa Alignment in the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model. Phys. Rev. D80 , (2009), 091702. 0908.1554 ] describes a particular way of enlarging the scalar sector of the Standard Model (SM), with a second Higgs doublet which is aligned to first the one in flavour space. This implies the absence of flavour-changing neutral currents (FCNCs) at tree level and the presence of three complex parameters. Within this general approach, we analyze the charged Higgs phenomenology, including CP asymmetries in the K and B systems [Jung M., Pich A. and Tuzon P. Charged-Higgs phenomenology in the Aligned two-Higgs-doublet model 1006.0470 ].

Invariants and flavour in the general Two Higgs Doublet Model

2012

The flavour structure of the general Two Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM) is analysed and a detailed study of the parameter space is presented, showing that flavour mixing in the 2HDM can be parametrized by various unitary matrices which arise from the misalignment in flavour space between pairs of various Hermitian flavour matrices which can be constructed within the model. This is entirely analogous to the generation of the CKM matrix in the Standard Model (SM). We construct weak basis invariants which can give insight into the physical implications of any flavour model, written in an arbitrary weak basis (WB) in the context of 2HDM. We apply this technique to two special cases, models with MFV…

Top quark decay in the Aligned two-Higgs-doublet Model

2015

AbstractWe compute the one loop right and left anomalous tensor couplings (gR and gL, respectively) for the top quark, in the aligned two-Higgs-doublet model. They are the magnetic-like couplings in the most general parameterization of the tbW vertex. We find that the aligned two-Higgs doublet model, that includes as particular cases some of the most studied extensions of the Higgs sector, as Type I and II 2HDM, introduces new electroweak contributions and provides theoretical predictions that are very sensitive to both new scalar masses and the neutral scalar mixing angle. The model can account for new CP violation effects via the introduction of complex alignment parameters that have impo…

Bs,d0→ℓ+ℓ− Decays in Two-Higgs Doublet Models

2016

Abstract We study the rare leptonic decays B s , d 0 → l + l − within the general framework of the aligned two-Higgs doublet model [1]. A complete one-loop calculation of the relevant short-distance Wilson coefficients is presented, with a detailed technical summary of the results. The phenomenological constraints imposed by present data on the model parameters are also investigated.

$ B_{s,d}^0 $ → ℓ + ℓ − decays in the aligned two-Higgs-doublet model

2014

The rare decays $B_{s,d}^0 \to \ell^+\ell^-$ are analyzed within the general framework of the aligned two-Higgs doublet model. We present a complete one-loop calculation of the relevant short-distance Wilson coefficients, giving a detailed technical summary of our results and comparing them with previous calculations performed in particular limits or approximations. We investigate the impact of various model parameters on the branching ratios and study the phenomenological constraints imposed by present data.

Implication of the 750 GeV diphoton resonance on two-Higgs-doublet model and its extensions with Higgs field

2015

We examine the implication of the 750 GeV diphoton resonance on the two-Higgs-doublet model imposing various theoretical and experimental constraints. The production rate of two-Higgs-doublet model is smaller than the cross section observed at the LHC by two order magnitude. In order to accommodate the 750 GeV diphoton resonance, we extend the two-Higgs-doublet model by introducing additional Higgs fields, and focus on two different extensions, an inert complex Higgs triplet and a real scalar septuplet. With the 125 GeV Higgs being agreement with the observed data, the production rate for the 750 GeV diphoton resonance can be enhanced to 0.6 fb for the former and 4.5 fb for the latter. The …

Charged-Higgs phenomenology in the aligned two-Higgs-doublet model

2010

The alignment in flavour space of the Yukawa matrices of a general two-Higgs-doublet model results in the absence of tree-level flavour-changing neutral currents. In addition to the usual fermion masses and mixings, the aligned Yukawa structure only contains three complex parameters zeta(f), which are potential new sources of CP violation [1]. For particular values of these three parameters all known specific implementations of the model based on discrete Z(2) symmetries are recovered. One of the most distinctive features of the two-Higgs-doublet model is the presence of a charged scalar H-+/-. In this work, we discuss its main phenomenological consequences in flavour-changing processes at …

Exclusive radiative B-meson decays within the aligned two-Higgs-doublet model

2012

In the aligned two-Higgs-doublet model, the alignment of Yukawa matrices in flavour space guarantees the absence of tree-level flavour-changing neutral currents, while allowing at the same time for new sources of CP violation, implying potentially large effects in many low-energy processes. In this work we study the constraints from exclusive radiative $B\to V\gamma$ decays, where $V$ denotes a light vector meson. The current experimental data on the CP-averaged branching ratios and the direct CP and isospin asymmetries are analyzed. It is found that, while the branching ratios and direct CP asymmetries do not constrain the parameter space much further compared to the inclusive $B\to X_{s,d…
