The contribution is a brief introduction to the workshop “Ifigenia in Aulide di Euripide. Testo, Interpretazione, Drammaturgia, ieri e oggi”, held in Palermo on April 7, 2016, whose intent is here motivated. The meeting pivoted on the idea that a tragedy as IA, burdened with serious textual problems – as evidenced by the latest editions by James Diggle (OCT) and David Kovacs (Loeb) –, may be a good basis for a methodological reassessment, within which textual criticism may interact with interpretative problems and dramaturgical performances, concerning either the time when theatrical representations were performed and their numerous rewritings. In the last decades of the eighteenth century, the third act of opera seria was gradually reduced in importance and dimensions until it disappeared altogether. The article studies this process in relation to the repertoire of the San Carlo theatre in Naples from 1771 on, with special attention to the intertwining of dramaturgical choices and audience’s behavior. The examination of a large number of librettos and scores makes it possible to fix reliable chronological terms. After an isolated episode in 1780, the adfirmation of the two-act model can be traced back to the 1786-1787 season. Hvordan kan samtidsteater bli arena, laboratorium og katalysator for «uenighetsfellesskaper» (Iversen, 2014)? I denne artikkelen drøfter jeg teatersituasjonens potensial for uenighetsfellesskap og ser uenighet i forestillinger i relasjon til uenighet om forestillinger før jeg analyserer to eksempler på «uenighetsdramaturgier». I de kontekstsensible analysene undersøker jeg hvordan publikumets interne uenighet kommer til uttrykk, og hvordan det dramaturgisk legges til rette for denne uenigheten.

Abstract The character is the core of dramaturgy. The current paper aims to present the newest research regarding the contemporary dramatic character. The study looks at the recent theoretical approaches that hold a double perspective on the character: as a writer's composition and as an actor's performance. The character is defined through his name, implication and role in the action, but also through his own discourse. Based on the connection between similarities and differences, each trait of a character facilitates the revelation of the whole image. Da «Nina» a «Belisa»: contagi veneziani (1788-1794)

Giovanni Paisiello's "Nina o sia La pazza per amore" was one of the greates operatic successes of the late Eighteenth Century. The article studies its circulation in the Venetian area, as well as the reactions it produced as documented in theorical writings and newspapers. Moreover, the model of mixed dramaturgy exemplified by "Nina", characterized by the alternation of spoken dialogues and musical numbers, influenced some Italian authors. "Belisa ossia La fedeltà riconosciuta" by Alessandro Pepoli and the German composer Peter von Winter is one of the most interesting results of this experimentation, and can be considered as a sort of new "Nina" for the Venetian stage.

Labour negotiations usually take place during formal, official and visible meetings. Meanwhile, they can also be hidden, when negotiators decide or accept to meet away from sight of management and employees. In this article, we draw upon Goffman’s dramaturgical perspective (Goffman, 1959) applied to labour bargaining (Friedman, 1994) to shed light upon the hidden part of the negotiation of downsizing programmes. During these episodes, the outcome of the bargaining process is uncertain. In this context, the role played by secret encounters in achieving a satisfying agreement appears crucial.
