Understanding youth athletes' life designing processes through dream day narratives

A number of studies have investigated career pathways in elite sport with retrospective designs, but few studies have explored how youth elite athletes construct narratives about their future lives and how their dreams and hopes relate to their careers in sport and other life contexts. Objective: Accumulating evidence indicates that social networking sites play an increasingly important role in young people’s drinking behavior. The present study adds to this research by assessing the conditionality of the relationships between exposure to and self-sharing of alcohol-related content on social media and adolescents’ drinking behavior. We make a reading of the painting Bacchus or St John the Baptist, based on a method that applies to it the classic myth of Dionysus-Bacchus. We divide its content into three parts: 1. Introduction (objective and method; the double name, Dionysus-Bacchus; narration of the myth in ΝόννοςΠανοπολίτης) 2.  Reading of the painting(hipothesis of the representation as St John the Baptist: some opinions; hipothesis of the representation as Bacchus: our opinion) 3. Conclusion (Leonard's Bacchus: an interpretation of Dionysus-Bacchus as neutralizer-God of the opposites. We make punctual comparisons with Jheronimus Bosch.

A scientific approach to anti-ageing therapies: state of the art.

A lasting dream of human beings is to reverse or at least postpone ageing. During the last years, an increasing number of scientific meetings, articles, and books have been devoted to anti-ageing therapies. This subject, full of misleading, simplistic, or wrong ideas, is very popular among the general public, whose imagery has been fascinated by all possible tools to delay ageing, getting immortality. Here, we discuss anti-ageing strategies aimed not to rejuvenate but to slow ageing and delay the onset of age-related diseases. These approaches should be able to substantially slow down the ageing process, extending our productive, youthful lives.

Since Aristotle, philosophers have found themselves in paradoxical questioning about the nature of time. Two strands of argumentation have evolved in the philosophy of language: First, the idea that lying is not necessarily connected to an intention of the speaker to deceive the hearer (e.g., Carson 2010); second, the idea that there is a fundamental distinction between lying and mere misleading (e.g., Saul 2012). Are dreams subjective experiences during sleep? Is it like something to dream, or is it only like something to remember dreams after awakening? Specifically, can dream reports be trusted to reveal what it is like to dream, and should they count as evidence for saying that dreams are conscious experiences at all? The goal of this article is to investigate the relationship between dreaming, dream reporting and subjective experience during sleep. I discuss different variants of philosophical skepticism about dream reporting and argue that they all fail.
