New regional industrial path development and innovation networks in times of economic crisis

This paper presents novel research on how exogenous shocks and economic crises affect innovation, knowledge networks, and new path development in regions. Conceptually, we take a regional innovation systems perspective which views new path development as the outcome of innovation and knowledge exchange between firms and other actors, facilitated by a common institutional framework. Empirically, we draw on interviews and network data from the oil and gas industry in southern Norway. Following a long period of prosperity, the industry was hit by the oil price shock in 2014 and entered an economic crisis. Masteroppgave i økonomi og administrasjon 2006, Høgskolen i Agder, Kristiansand Prosjektet mitt er basert på et case studie av ti entreprenører. Jeg har gjennom samtaler tatt del i deres tanker og erfaringer i forhold til finansiering. Entreprenørene har benyttet seg av ulike finansieringskilder. Noen av de har nettopp startet opp virksomheten, mens andre har holdt på i mange år og til og med som har avsluttet den. Entreprenørene operer igjen i ulike næringer noe jeg så på som essensielt for oppgaven. Det er også interessant å se hvordan ulike næringer og omgivelser kan virke inn på inntrykk entreprenørene sitter inne med i forhold til de ulike formene for finansiering. Det er også ulike op…
Forwardpremien i elektrisitetsmarkedet

Vi definerer forwardpremien som forwardpris minus forventet spotpris og undersøker om denne sammenhengen kan forklares ut fra systematisk risiko og de ulike aktørers villighet til å bære den. I den første analysen replikeres en studie gjort av Longstaff og Wang i det amerikanske PJM markedet. Her sjekkes RK pris per time i forhold til den respektive DA pris per time i det fysiske markedet på Nord Pool. I den andre analysen gjør vi den samme undersøkelsen i det finansielle markedet. Resolution of the ATLAS muon spectrometer monitored drift tubes in LHC Run 2

The momentum measurement capability of the ATLAS muon spectrometer relies fundamentally on the intrinsic single-hit spatial resolution of the monitored drift tube precision tracking chambers. Optimal resolution is achieved with a dedicated calibration program that addresses the specific operating conditions of the 354 000 high-pressure drift tubes in the spectrometer. The calibrations consist of a set of timing offsets and drift time to drift distance transfer relations, and result in chamber resolution functions. The Large Observatory For x-ray Timing (LOFT) is a mission concept which was proposed to ESA as M3 and M4 candidate in the framework of the Cosmic Vision 2015-2025 program. Thanks to the unprecedented combination of effective area and spectral resolution of its main instrument and the uniquely large field of view of its wide field monitor, LOFT will be able to study the behaviour of matter in extreme conditions such as the strong gravitational field in the innermost regions close to black holes and neutron stars and the supra-nuclear densities in the interiors of neutron stars.
