Collider aspects of flavour physics at high Q

2008

This chapter of the 'Flavor in the era of LHC' workshop report discusses flavor-related issues in the production and decays of heavy states at the LHC at high momentum transfer Q, both from the experimental and the theoretical perspective. We review top quark physics, and discuss the flavor aspects of several extensions of the standard model, such as supersymmetry, little Higgs models or models with extra dimensions. This includes discovery aspects, as well as the measurement of several properties of these heavy states. We also present publicly available computational tools related to this topic. © Springer-Verlag / Società Italiana di Fisica 2008.

El Censo de población de 1991 en el País Valenciano presenta unos resultados que difieren poco de los del Padrón de 1986. Las cifras permanecen estancadas por el retroceso de las tasas de crecimiento vegetativo y de la inmigración. Multi sensor photogrammetric techniques for the documentation of the ruins of Temple G in Selinunte

In the past two decades UAV have been increasingly used for the survey of wide areas. The chosen case study, the huge heap of ruins of the Temple G in Selinunte, demands a higher accuracy than that usually accepted for wide areas survey; nonetheless, the morphology of the ruins makes laser scanning survey inadequate to the purpose of the analysis and interpretation. The proposed methodology integrates SfM photogrammetry from UAV and action camera’s photos. A test on a specific area has evaluated the accuracy of photogrammetric survey through the comparison with laser scanning data.

Mini-drones swarms and their potential in conflict situations

Drones are currently used for a wide range of operations, such as border surveillance, general surveillance, reconnaissance, transport, aerial photography, traffic control, earth observation, communications, broadcasting, and armed attacks. This paper examines the swarming and associated abilities to overwhelm a combatant as well as bring extra functionality by means of extra sensors spread throughout the swarm. The strategy of stealth is becoming increasingly less effective. Combatants can not only sense them, but can also successfully destroy them (although this cannot be said for nano-drones). For mini-drones, objectives can be enhanced by the strategy of overwhelming. peerReviewed

Vehicle routing problems with drones equipped with multi-package payload compartments

The vehicle routing problem with drones (VRP-D) consists of designing combined truck-drone routes and schedules to serve a set of customers with specific requests and time constraints. In this paper, VRP-D is extended to include a fleet of drones equipped with multi-package payload compartments to serve more customers on a single trip. Moreover, a drone can return to a truck, different from the one from which it started, to swap its depleted battery and/or to pick up more packages. EASPEGESTADAGROSUP; L’objectif est de développer des systèmes de proxidétection embarqués sur différentes plateformes aérienne (drone) ou terrestre (robot) dédiés, entre autre, à l’identification et la localisation d’adventices pour établir des cartes de présence d'adventices afin de mettre en oeuvre le désherbage chimique localisé. L’étude présente les premiers résultats obtenus par le drone d’AIRINOV dont la problématique est d’étudier le potentiel de l’imagerie aérienne pour la détection d’adventices. Deux approches ont été étudiées.
