University Students’ Approaches to Making the Most of Their Study Time

This article explores university students’ approaches to and positions with regard to making the most of their study time. The article discusses how various normative societal expectations around students’ use and management of time feature in their talk about how they organise their everyday lives. The research is based on thematic interviews (n = 28) that focused in detail on students’ day-to-day activities that were generated with students from two sets of generalist study fields in three regional Finnish universities. Bakalaura darbā “Dabas aizsardzības telpu veidošanās Ķemeru Nacionālajā parkā 20.-21. gs.” tika noskaidrotas dabas aizsardzības teritoriju veidošanās īpatnības Ķemeru Nacionālajā parkā 20.-21. gs. Darbā tika aplūkotas tādas tēmas kā dabas aizsardzības ģeogrāfija, N. Trifta telpu koncepts, dabas aizsardzības ideju attīstība pasaulē un Latvijā. Pētījumā ir interpretētas dabas aizsardzības teritorijas, kā empīriskā, plūsmu, attēlu un vietas telpa. Termoelektrisko īpašību pētījumi tetratiotetracēna atvasinājumu plānās kārtiņās

Darbā tika izveidotas organisku pusvadītāju - tetratiotetracēna (TTT) atvasinājumu plānas kārtiņas, izmantojot termiskās iztvaicēšanas metodi vakuumā. Izmantotie atvasinājumi ir ar metil, ¬¬metoksi, fenil un izopropil grupu aizvietojumiem 2. un 8. tetratiotetracēna molekulas pozīcijā, dažādās kombinācijās. Tika pētīta plāno kārtiņu morfoloģija, izmantojot ar skenējošā elektronu mikroskopu iegūtos attēlus, kā arī termoelektriskās īpašības, nosakot to elektrisko vadītspēju un Zēbeka koeficientu. Plānās kārtiņas tika pētītas gan tīrā veidā kā arī dopētas ar jodu, iegūstot p-tipa pusvadītāja īpašības. Tika izveidots tetratiotetracēna plāno kārtiņu termoelektriskais ģenerators. Mainoties teātra tekstu un iestudējumu savstarpējām attiecībām un tekstam zaudējot centrālo lomu iestudējumos, mainījušies arī teātra tekstu radīšanas principi un teksta funkcionalitāte iestudējumā, un tas sevišķi spilgti novērojams postdramatiskā teātra kontekstā. Formation of Si/SiO2 Luminescent Quantum Dots From Mesoporous Silicon by Sodium Tetraborate/Citric Acid Oxidation Treatment

We propose a rapid, one-pot method to generate photoluminescent (PL) mesoporous silicon nanoparticles (PSiNPs). Typically, mesoporous silicon (meso-PSi) films, obtained by electrochemical etching of monocrystalline silicon substrates, do not display strong PL because the silicon nanocrystals (nc-Si) in the skeleton are generally too large to display quantum confinement effects. Here we describe an improved approach to form photoluminescent PSiNPs from meso-PSi by partial oxidation in aqueous sodium borate (borax) solutions. The borax solution acts to simultaneously oxidize the nc-Si surface and to partially dissolve the oxide product. This results in reduction of the size of the nc-Si core …

The paper focuses on the ?unexpected pathways? of successful students with an immigrant background: these biographical routes, that seems socially impossible, raise theoretical issues around the individual-society, actor-structure relationship. Disadvantaged students who succeed represent a sociological challenge in the attempt to understand atypical situations and to identify the institutional processes and the structural opportunities that facilitate them, reducing ethnic inequalities in education. Based on an ethnographic approach, this paper explores how members of a new age spiritual movement known as ?Llave Mariana? (LLM) build and experience their bodies. At the same time, it develops a thick description of their ritual practices and later it analyzes, delving fundamentally into the phenomenological perspective, how these members shape and transform their forms of self-perception, experience, and representation of others and the environment.
