Extending the international new venture phenomenon to digital platform providers : A longitudinal case study
2018
People increasingly interact with services enabled by digital platforms. This has been a consequence of the digitalization of artifacts, which has transmuted traditional businesses into digital forms. With the increasing digitalization and modularization of services, digital platforms have given many digital service providers possibilities to scale globally, and to rapidly transcend national borders by serving multi-sided markets. However, we still know very little about how digital platform providers actually internationalize their services, or how they make their platforms available for global markets. In this paper, we contribute to the increasing literature on digital-based INVs, examin…

Kronecker modules and reductions of a pair of bilinear forms
2004
We give a short overview on the subject of canonical reduction of a pair of bilinear forms, each being symmetric or alternating, making use of the classification of pairs of linear mappings between vector spaces given by J. Dieudonné.
Trace cocharacters and the Kronecker products of Schur functions
2003
Abstract It follows from the theory of trace identities developed by Procesi and Razmyslov that the trace cocharacters arising from the trace identities of the algebra Mr(F) of r×r matrices over a field F of characteristic zero are given by TCr,n=∑λ∈Λr(n)χλ⊗χλ where χλ⊗χλ denotes the Kronecker product of the irreducible characters of the symmetric group associated with the partition λ with itself and Λr(n) denotes the set of partitions of n with r or fewer parts, i.e. the set of partitions λ=(λ1⩽⋯⩽λk) with k⩽r. We study the behavior of the sequence of trace cocharacters TCr,n. In particular, we study the behavior of the coefficient of χ(ν,n−m) in TCr,n as a function of n where ν=(ν1⩽⋯⩽νk) i…
Lattices of Jordan algebras
2010
AbstractCommutative Jordan algebras play a central part in orthogonal models. The generations of these algebras is studied and applied in deriving lattices of such algebras. These lattices constitute the natural framework for deriving new orthogonal models through factor aggregation and disaggregation.
Impact of oxidoreduction potential and of gas bubbling on rheological properties of non-fat yoghurt
2010
International audience; The aim of this work was to study the effect of different gaseous conditions on the physico-chemical properties of yoghurt. Four conditions of oxidoreduction potential (Eh7), +433 mV (milk gassed with air), +405 mV (ungassed milk), +283 mV (milk gassed with N2) and −349 mV (milk gassed with N2–H2) were applied to milk. The rheological properties and microstructure of these yoghurts were determined by measuring apparent viscosity, whey separation (WS) and using confocal laser scanning microscopy. Exopolysaccharide (EPS) production by lactic acid bacteria (LAB) was also studied, and production was increased for extreme Eh7 values: the highest values were obtained for a…
Abstract 5476: Inhibiting lactate transporters MCT-1 and MCT-4 target hypoxic HNSCC cells and sensitize them to metformin
2018
Abstract Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is treated primarily through a combination of surgery and radiation therapy. The problem of radioresistance, however, persists and requires new approaches to overcome it. Tumor hypoxia has been shown to be a driver of radioresistance, thereby prompting the targeting of the hypoxic niche, known to be highly glycolytic. Two key components of the hypoxic metabolic profile are lactate transporters MCT-1 and MCT-4, which sustain hypoxia-driven lactate production in cells. We hypothesize that inhibition of MCT-1 and MCT-4 will selectively target the growth of hypoxic tumor cells and potentially exert a synergistic effect with the antidiabetic…
