The area formerly occupied by the Texcoco Lake, near Mexico City, was subjected to drainage since the past century, to prevent flooding of the city; however, the progressive desiccation and the geological origin of the area gave place to the appearance of strongly salt and sodium affected soils. Lacking vegetation, these soils are very susceptible to wind erosion, and has been attempted to provide the area with a plant cover, using mostly native species. Objective: To evaluate the 5 components of the Fried frailty phenotype (self-reported unintentional weight loss, physical activity questionnaire, gait speed, grip strength, and self-reported exhaustion) for long-term outcomes in elderly survivors of acute coronary syndrome. Methods: A total of 342 consecutive patients (from October 1, 2010, to February 1, 2012) were included. The 5 components of the Fried score and albumin concentration, as malnutrition index, were assessed before hospital discharge. [EN] This research work proposes an innovative water resource recovery facility (WRRF) for the recovery of energy, nutrients and reclaimed water from sewage, which represents a promising approach towards enhanced circular economy scenarios. To this aim, anaerobic technology, microalgae cultivation, and membrane technology were combined in a dedicated platform.
