The poultry disease coccidiosis, caused by infection with Eimeria spp. apicomplexan parasites, is responsible for enormous economic losses to the global poultry industry. The rapid increase of resistance to therapeutic agents, as well as the expense of vaccination with live attenuated vaccines, requires the development of new effective treatments for coccidiosis. Because of their key regulatory function in the eukaryotic cell cycle, cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) are prominent drug targets. Since their discovery in 1968, the BODIPYs dyes (4,4-difluoro-4-bora-3a, 4a diaza-s-indacene) have found an exponentially increasing number of applications in a large variety of scientific fields. In particular, studies reporting bioapplications of BODIPYs have increased dramatically. However, most of the time, only in vitro investigations have been reported. The indexes created by Web search engines serve as metadata about the content of Web documents. Single crystals of [Fe(η5-C5H4)(η5-C5H5)]2Li2(thf)4 (1) were obtained from a tetrahydrofuran solution containing monolithioferrocene. The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21 with a = 9.6589(5) A, b = 17.4285(9) A, c = 30.3116(15) A, β = 91.911(2)° and V = 5099.8(5) A3 with three independent molecules of 1. All individual molecules feature a non- symmetric almost planar Li2C2 four-membered ring with two shorter (2.118–2.215 A) and two longer Li–C distances (2.257–2.309 A). How is it possible to regard something that is not prohibited, as illegal? What are the resulting consequences of fact and law? This chapter suggests that a reasonable way to reconcile these two assertions is to admit that they refer to two profiles of the phenomenon in question that must be kept separate. Independence is not prohibited, but not all means to reach it are allowed under general international law.
