Zusammenfassung Das Beckwith-Wiedemann-Syndrom (BWS) ist ein pädiatrisches Überwuchssyndrom mit variablem klinischem Erscheinungsbild. Obwohl die betroffenen Kinder mit zunehmendem Alter immer normaler aussehen, ist es wichtig, die Diagnose BWS zu stellen. Gründe sind mögliche syndromspezifische Komplikationen, insbesondere ein 400-fach erhöhtes Risiko der Patienten, an bestimmten embryonalen Tumoren – Nephroblastome (Wilms-Tumoren), Hepatoblastome u. a. – innerhalb der ersten Lebensjahre zu erkranken. Das akute idiopathische Skrotalodem (AISE) wird als eine seltene Ursache fur das Akute Skrotum angesehen. Nach Ausschluss der haufigeren Ursachen (Hoden- und Hydatidentorsion, Epididymitis, Hernie oder Hydrozele) erlauben die typischen klinischen Symptome und die charakteristischen Befunde bei der Dopplersonografie eine sichere Diagnosestellung, die in den meisten Fallen zur Vermeidung unnotiger Hodenfreilegungen beitragen kann.

Hereditary angioedema (HAE) is an autosomal dominant disease characterized by recurrent episodes of potentially life-threatening angioedema. The most widespread underlying genetic deficiency is a heterozygous deficiency of the serine protease inhibitor Cl esterase inhibitor (C1-Inh). In addition to low C4 levels, the most important laboratory parameter for correct diagnosis of HAE or angioedema due to acquired C1-Inh deficiency is reduced C1-Inh function (fC1-Inh). 1. Cacospongionolide B is a novel marine metabolite isolated from the sponge Fasciospongia cavernosa. In in vitro studies, this compound inhibited phospholipase A2 (PLA2), showing selectivity for secretory PLA2 (sPLA2) versus cytosolic PLA2 (cPLA2), and its potency on the human synovial enzyme (group II) was similar to that of manoalide. 2. This activity was confirmed in vivo in the 8 h zymosan-injected rat air pouch, on the secretory enzyme accumulating in the pouch exudate. The knowledge of the pathophysiology after traumatic head injury is necessary for adequate and patient-oriented treatment. As the primary insult, which represents the direct mechanical damage, cannot be therapeutically influenced, target of the treatment is the limitation of the secondary damage (delayed non-mechanical damage). It is influenced by changes in cerebral blood flow (hypo- and hyperperfusion), impairment of cerebrovascular autoregulation, cerebral metabolic dysfunction and inadequate cerebral oxygenation.
