This study assesses the interaction of the postural control system and the production of expressive vocal behavior during speech and singing. In particular, we focus on the head, whose motions have been implicated for both postural control and spoken language production. How does head motion behavior simultaneously serve posture control and linguistic communication during vocalization? This study examines the interaction of these two subsystems by measuring the effects of different levels of vocal effort (loudness) on speech and singing. Electrochemical sensor for phosphate ions based on laser scriber reduced graphene oxide

This preliminary work shows a new and innovative way to produce laser scribed reduced graphene oxide (LSGO) electrodes using different porous substrates (ranging from paper to plastic and fabric). The obtained electrodes were also tested as electrochemical sensors towards the detection of phosphate ions in water. To obtain the electrodes, a water suspension of GO was filtered on top of substrate (such as Whatman® filter paper) and a complete sensor was obtained from its reduction using a CO2 laser. The electrode is composed of working and counter electrodes made of LSGO and a reference electrode of a Ag/AgCl obtained by using a commercial AgCl conductive paste. Phosphate ions were detected …

Microgastrinae is one of the largest subfamilies of the Braconidae with about 2,000 described species worldwide. These wasps are of enormous ecological interest due to their role in controlling the caterpillar populations. This study analyses diversity and community structure within the Microgastrinae in the Artikutza Forest, located in the Peñas de Aia Natural Park, western Pyrenees, Spain. The specimens were collected in two different habitats: mixed forest and beech forest. A total of 524 specimens, belonging to nine separate genera and 27 species were captured. Tekst dotyczy zjawiska rasizmu we wspó³czesnej Polsce, które zgodnie z tezą autora tekstu, w ostatnich latach się nasila. W wyniku co najmniej dwóch istotnych procesów społecznych (migracje z Ukrainy oraz rozwój współpracy międzynarodowej w obszarze szkolnictwa wyższego) znacząco wzrosła liczba obcokrajowców w raczej monokulturowej do tej pory Polsce. Oprócz tego w związku z tzw. kryzysem uchodźczym oraz zamachami terrorystycznymi w Zachodniej Europie, obcokrajowcy, zwłaszcza zaś muzułmanie, stali się mocno widoczni w polskich mediach.
