Diversifying crop rotations with temporary grasslands: potentials for weed management and farmland biodiversity

Neutron Radiography Visualization of Solid Particles in Stirring Liquid Metal

Abstract This paper presents the analysis of the first dynamic neutron radiography experiment that visualized motion of solid particles in liquid metal, which was stirred by a system of four counter-rotating magnets. The paper also contains the quantitative results derived from neutron images: the distribution of particle concentration, number of admixed particles and velocities as functions of the magnet rotation speed.

Dobór technik bioremediacji jest bardzo ważny w oczyszczaniu gleby skażonej substancjami ropopochodnymi, która ma być wykorzystywanej rolniczo. Prezentowane wyniki wskazują, że na rozwój siewek owsa większy wpływ ma stosowana metoda bioremediacji niż poziom zanieczyszczenia węglowodorami. Z zastosowanych technik najbardziej przyjazne dla wegetacji owsa były te, w których wykorzystywano szczepionkę drożdżową.

The role of light in the emergence of weeds: using Camelina microcarpa as an example

When modelling the emergence of weeds, two main factors are considered that condition this process: temperature and soil moisture. Optimum temperature is necessary for metabolic processes that generate energy for growth, while turgor pressure is necessary for root and shoot elongation which eventually leads to seedling emergence from the soil. Use of Biostimulants for Organic Apple Production: Effects on Tree Growth, Yield, and Fruit Quality at Harvest and During Storage

The experiment was conducted during two consecutive seasons (years 2016 and 2017) in an organic apple orchard of the cultivar Jonathan. Several biostimulants were tested (10 in total), including humic acids, macro and micro seaweed extracts, alfalfa protein hydrolysate, amino acids alone or in combination with zinc, B-group vitamins, chitosan and a commercial product containing silicon. In seed plants, the colocalization of the 5S loci within the intergenic spacer (IGS) of the nuclear 45S tandem units is restricted to the phylogenetically derived Asteraceae family. However, fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) colocalization of both multigene families has also been observed in other unrelated seed plant lineages. Previous work has identified colocalization of 45S and 5S loci in Ginkgo biloba using FISH, but these observations have not been confirmed recently by sequencing a 1.8 kb IGS. Kooperatīva mācīšanās kā līdzeklis 7-12 gadu vecu bērnu kapoeiras kustību iegaumēšanai

Šajā maģistra darbā autore pētīja, vai kooperatīvā mācīšanās uzlabo kapoeira horeogrāfiju atcerēšanos. Autore organizēja 9 video novērošanas sesijas 7-12 gadus veciem kapoeira audzēkņiem Capokids Capoeira Latvia organizētajās nodarbībās. Trīs bērnu grupas strādāja katrā no trim mācību organizācijas formām: indivīduāli, grupu darbs, un darbs pāros. Kopumā pētījumā piedalījās 53 bērni. Autore analizēja bērnu sasniegumus un pētīja uzvedību. Papildus uzmanība tika pievērsta bērniem ar augstu sasniegumu līmeni un bērniem ar dažādām vajadzībām. The present study aimed to: (1) translate the Basic Psychological Needs in Physical Education Scale (BPNPE Scale; Vlachopoulos, Katarzi, & Kontou, 2011) to Filipino, and (2) examine the reliability and validity of the Filipino version.
