Three-body resonances in two-meson-one-baryon systems
2007
We report four $\Sigma$'s and three $\Lambda$'s, in the 1500 - 1800 MeV region, as two meson - one baryon S-wave $(1/2)^+$ resonances. We solve Faddeev equations in the coupled channel approach. The invariant mass of one of the meson-baryon pairs and that of the three particles have been varied and peaks in the squared three body $T$-matrix have been found very close to the existing $S$ = -1, $J^P= 1/2^+$ low lying baryon resonances. The input two-body $t$-matrices for meson-meson and meson-baryon interaction have been calculated by solving the Bethe-Salpeter equation with the potentials obtained in the chiral unitary approach.
States of $ \rho$ B* $ \bar{{B}}^{{*}}_{}$ with J = 3 within the fixed center approximation to Faddeev equations
2015
We study the interaction of the a $\rho$ and $D^*$, $\bar D^*$ with spins aligned using the Fixed Center Approximation to the Faddeev equations. We select a cluster of $D^* \bar D^*$, which is found to be bound in $I=0$ and can be associated to the X(3915), and let the $\rho$ meson orbit around the $D^*$ and $\bar D^*$. In this case we find an $I=1$ state with mass around 4340 MeV and narrow width of about 50 MeV. We also investigate the case with a cluster of $\rho D^*$ and let the $\bar D^*$ orbit around the system of the two states. The $\rho D^*$ cluster is also found to bind and leads to the $D^*_2(2460)$ state. The addition of the extra $\bar D^*$ produces further binding and we find,…
Asymmetries in elastic scattering of 100 MeVπ+from a polarizedHe3target
1991
We report the observation of a large asymmetry in the elastic scattering of 100 MeV {pi}{sup +} from a polarized {sup 3}He target. Measurements have been made at laboratory angles of 60{degree}, 80{degree}, and 100{degree}, with the largest value {ital A}{sub {ital y}}=0.89{plus minus}0.12 occurring at 80{degree}, near a cross-section minimum. This asymmetry is the largest observed to date in pion scattering from a spin-1/2 nucleus. The {ital A}{sub {ital y}} data are qualitatively reproduced by a schematic model; however, agreement with the data is significantly improved when realistic three-body Faddeev wave functions and a full nonlocal distorted-wave impulse approximation reaction model…
Study of thepd→pdηreaction
2007
A study of the pd{yields}pd{eta} reaction in the energy range where the recent data from Uppsala are available is done in the two-step model of {eta} production including the final state interaction. The {eta}-d final state interaction is incorporated through the solution of the Lippmann Schwinger equation using an elastic scattering matrix element, T{sub {eta}}{sub d{yields}}{sub {eta}}{sub d}, which is required to be half off-shell. It is written in a factorized form, with an off-shell form factor multiplying an on-shell part given by an effective range expansion up to the fourth power in momentum. The parameters of this expansion have been taken from an existing recent relativistic Fadde…
Description of thef2(1270),ρ3(1690),f4(2050),ρ5(2350), andf6(2510)resonances as multi-ρ(770)states
2010
In a previous work regarding the interaction of two $\ensuremath{\rho}(770)$ resonances, the ${f}_{2}(1270)$ (${J}^{PC}={2}^{++}$) resonance was obtained dynamically as a two-$\ensuremath{\rho}$ molecule with a very strong binding energy, 135 MeV per $\ensuremath{\rho}$ particle. In the present work we use the $\ensuremath{\rho}\ensuremath{\rho}$ interaction in spin 2 and isospin 0 channel to show that the resonances ${\ensuremath{\rho}}_{3}(1690)$ (${3}^{--}$), ${f}_{4}(2050)$ (${4}^{++}$), ${\ensuremath{\rho}}_{5}(2350)$ (${5}^{--}$), and ${f}_{6}(2510)$ (${6}^{++}$) are basically molecules of increasing number of $\ensuremath{\rho}(770)$ particles. We use the fixed center approximation o…
Asymmetric Conductivity of Strongly Correlated Compounds
2014
In this chapter, we show that the FC solutions for distribution function \(n_0(\mathbf{p})\) generate NFL behavior, and violate the particle-hole symmetry inherent in LFL. This, in turn, yields dramatic changes in transport properties of HF metals, particularly, the differential conductivity becomes asymmetric. As it is demonstrated in Sect. 3.1, Fermi quasiparticles can behave as Bose one. Such a state is viewed as possessing the supersymmetry (SUSY) that interchanges bosons and fermions eliminating the difference between them. In the case of asymmetrical conductivity it is the emerging SUSY that violates the time invariance symmetry. Thus, restoring one important symmetry, the FC state vi…
Identification of the Weevil immune genes and their expression in the bacteriome tissue
2008
Abstract Background Persistent infections with mutualistic intracellular bacteria (endosymbionts) are well represented in insects and are considered to be a driving force in evolution. However, while pathogenic relationships have been well studied over the last decades very little is known about the recognition of the endosymbionts by the host immune system and the mechanism that limits their infection to the bacteria-bearing host tissue (the bacteriome). Results To study bacteriome immune specificity, we first identified immune-relevant genes of the weevil Sitophilus zeamais by using suppressive subtractive hybridization (SSH) and then analyzed their full-length coding sequences obtained b…
Embryotoxic potential of persistent organic pollutants extracted from tissues of guillemots (Uria aalge) from the Baltic Sea and the Atlantic Ocean
2002
The Baltic Sea is a heavily polluted area. To assess the current contaminant pressure on the common guillemot (Uria aalge) living there, whole-body extracts of guillemots from the Baltic Sea were prepared and subdivided over six fractions, which differed in composition due to lipophilicity and polarity of the contaminants. The fractions were tested in the chicken embryo assay and compared to fractions of Atlantic guillemot extracts. Fertilized chicken eggs were injected with 0.03, 0.3, or 3 bird egg equivalents (BEQ) of the contaminants present in the fractions and then incubated for 19 d. Endpoints were selected to cover several mechanisms that may play a role in reproductive failures of f…

Nucleon Form Factors at high q2 within constituent quark models
2000
The nucleon form factors are calculated using a non-relativistic description in terms of constituent quarks. The emphasis is put on the reliability of present numerical methods used to solve the three-body problem in order to correctly reproduce the expected asymptotic behavior of form factors. Nucleon wave functions obtained in the hyperspherical formalism or employing Faddeev equations have been considered. While a q**(-8) behavior is expected at high q for a quark-quark force behaving like 1/r at short distances, it is found that the hypercentral approximation in the hyperspherical formalism (K=0) leads to a q**(-7) behavior. An infinite set of waves is required to get the correct behavi…
