The purpose of this explorative study is to put the existing theories on charismatic political leadership in a current post-web media context. It also seeks to better understand why “charismatic politicians” seem to have success in present-day cyber politics. The paper considers political charisma in a Weberian perspective and aims to explain what elements it includes in a current electoral environment characterized by a fast-changing media landscape. Clinical manifestations of head and neck cancer in pediatric patients, an analysis of 253 cases in a single Brazilian center

Pediatric head and neck cancer (PHNC) is rare and its nonspecific clinical manifestations may often lead to delayed diagnosis. We aimed to describe the signs, symptoms, and clinicopathological characteristics of PHNC. Medical records were retrospectively reviewed for all PHNC cases diagnosed from 1986 to 2016 affecting patients aged 19-years and younger from a tertiary referral center in Brazil. Demographic variables, anatomical site of primary tumors, histopathological diagnoses, signs and symptoms, and patterns of misdiagnosis were collected and interpreted by statistical and descriptive analysis. Bakalaura darbā aplūkota lineāro jaukto efektu modeļu teorija un to praktiskā pielietojuma aspekti datu analīzē. Nereti šādi modeļi tiek pielietoti medicīnas, bioloģijas un valodniecības nozaru pētījumos, ja datos ir atkarīgi novērojumi. Lineāros jaukto efektu modeļos iekļauti fiksētie efekti un gadījuma efekti, kas ņem vērā katra subjekta vai grupas ietekmi uz interesējošo mainīgo. Darbā modeļi pielietoti garengriezuma un atkārtotu mērījumu datu piemēriem. Iegūtais lineāro jaukto efektu modelis salīdzināts ar atkārtotu mērījumu ANOVA testu atkārtotu mērījumu datiem. Tika secināts, ka salīdzinātās metodes darbojas līdzīgi, taču lineāriem jaukto efektu modeļiem ir vairāk priekšrocību.
