Influence of Content Knowledge on Pedagogical Content Knowledge: The case of teaching photosynthesis and plant growth

International audience; Abstract The aim of the research was to investigate the effect of the amount and quality of content knowledge on pedagogical content knowledge (PCK). The biological content photosynthesis and plant growth was used as an example. The research sample consisted of 10 primary and 10 secondary (biology) teacher students. Questionnaires, lesson preparation task and an interview were used to collect data. Primary student teachers' were not aware of students' conceptual difficulties and had problems in choosing the most important content. Regulation of tumour cell sensitivity to TNF-induced oxidative stress and cytotoxicity: Role of glutathione

Glutathione (GSH) and the rate of cellular proliferation determine tumour cell sensitivity to tumour necrosis factor (TNF). Buthionine sulphoximine (BSO), a selective inhibitor of GSH synthesis, inhibits tumour growth and increases recombinant human TNF (rhTNF)-alpha cytoxicity in vitro. Administration of sublethal doses of rhTNF-alpha to Ehrlich ascites-tumour (EAT)-bearing mice induces oxidative stress (as measured by increases in intracellular peroxide levels, O2.- generation and mitochondrial GSSG). ATP-induced selective GSH depletion, when combined with rhTNF-alpha administration, affords a 61% inhibition of tumour growth and results in a significant extent of host survival. Administra…

Efflux of drugs by functional P-gp, MRP1 and elevated GSH level can confer resistance to apoptosis induced by a range of different stimuli. Electronic Health Record in Italy and Personal Data Protection.

The present article deals with the Italian Electronic Health Record (hereinafter ehr), recently introduced by Act 221/2012, with a specific focus on personal data protection. Privacy issues — e.g., informed consent, data processing, patients’ rights and minors’ will — are discussed within the framework of recent e-Health legislation, national Data Protection Code, the related Data Protection Authority pronouncements and eu law. The paper is aimed at discussing the problems arising from a complex, fragmentary and sometimes uncertain legal framework on e-Health.
Mozart e Paisiello: a proposito dell’aria «Mentre ti lascio, o figlia» K. 513

The text of Mozart's scena e aria K. 513 comes from Giovanni Paisiello's "La disfatta di Dario" performed for the first time in Rome in 1776. The article reconstructs the whole tradition of the libretto, written by Carlo Diodati Morbili in Naples in 1756 and set to music by various authors till the end of the century. There is a large body of evidence that Paisiello's "Mentre ti lascio, o cara" reached large popularity thanks to the most famous tenors of the time. The dramaturgical context of the aria is examined in detail, and four different versions are compared (Paisiello, Traetta, Mozart, and Frigel). Mozart's setting is demonstrated to be directly inspired by Paisiello's model.

Das Lernen des Deutschen in der Schule hat nicht nur in ganz Finnland, sondern auch in der Stadt Jyväskylä drastisch abgenommen. Tämä työn tarkoituksena oli selvittää, miten Eurooppalaisen viitekehyksen sekä käytössä olevan opetussuunnitelman asettamat suullisen kielitaidon tavoitteet ja vaatimukset täyttyvät kahdessa vieraankielen A2-oppimäärän kirjasarjassa. Tutkimuksen kohteeksi valikoitui vuonna 2014 julkaistut kaksi saman kustantajan kirjasarjaa – saksankielinen Mega ja ruotsinkielinen Skoj. Englanti ja saksa ovat kieliä, jotka ovat virallisia kieliä useammassa maassa eli niillä on useampi standardivarieteetti. Tällöin puhutaan kielen plurisentrisyydestä. Standardivarieteettien tunteminen on oleellinen osa kommunikatiivista kompetenssia ja oppilaan kielitaitoa. Tässä työssä tutkittiin, miten suomalaiset englannin ja saksan vieraankielen oppikirjat ottavat huomioon kielen plurisentrisyyden ja sen eri standardivarieteetit.
