Éros et Alétheia

2021

Dailleurs, la Révélation highlights a decisive distinction between the concept of aletheia, which is neutral and does not involve the will, and that of apokalypsis, the logic of which attests to the primacy of the wil which chooses because it loves and, in doing so, discovers the lover in the subject. Playing Christian truth against Greek truth, this distinction allows to think afresh about the truth of the Grecks, to the point of recognising exemplary cases of overflowing in which aletheia shows more than we would expect of it, and where the effects of apokalypsis are verified in aletheia itselt. Reversing the current pattern, the hermeneutics from which this distinction stems requires an …

Schiavi, poveri e benefattori nell’Anatolia tardoantica: la visione socio-economica delle comunità enkratite attraverso gli atti apocrifi degli apost…

2015

Different sources (epigrahical, literary, apocryphal) can be used to analyse the Christian heretical sects connected to an enkratite movement (Enkratites, Apotactites, Sakkophoroi, Hydroparastatai, Aerians), which was characterised by radical forms of self-restraint (enkrateia). Epigraphical documents are helpful in setting these communities in the rural background of late antique Anatolia (4th-5th cent. AD). On the other side the apocryphal acts of the apostles – specially the so called Acta Petri from the Codex Vercellensis and the Acta Philippi – offer important hints on social and economic ideas developed by Enkratites, in particular concerning the most debated issues of evangelic pover…

The fully developed remnant of a neutrino-driven supernova: Evolution of ejecta structure and asymmetries in SNR Cassiopeia A

2020

Abridged. We aim at exploring to which extent the remnant keeps memory of the asymmetries that develop stochastically in the neutrino-heating layer due to hydrodynamic instabilities (e.g., convective overturn and the standing accretion shock instability) during the first second after core bounce. We coupled a 3D HD model of a neutrino-driven SN explosion with 3D MHD/HD simulations of the remnant formation. The simulations cover 2000 years of expansion and include all physical processes relevant to describe the complexities in the SN evolution and the subsequent interaction of the stellar debris with the wind of the progenitor star. The interaction of large-scale asymmetries left from the ea…

MODELING SNR CASSIOPEIA A from the SUPERNOVA EXPLOSION to ITS CURRENT AGE: The ROLE of POST-EXPLOSION ANISOTROPIES of EJECTA

2016

The remnants of core-collapse supernovae (SNe) have complex morphologies that may reflect asymmetries and structures developed during the progenitor SN explosion. Here we investigate how the morphology of the SNR Cassiopeia A (Cas A) reflects the characteristics of the progenitor SN with the aim to derive the energies and masses of the post-explosion anisotropies responsible for the observed spatial distribution of Fe and Si/S. We model the evolution of Cas A from the immediate aftermath of the progenitor SN to the three-dimensional interaction of the remnant with the surrounding medium. The post-explosion structure of the ejecta is described by small-scale clumping of material and larger-s…

Study of the Ti-44(alpha, p)V-47 reaction and implications for core collapse supernovae

2014

The underlying physics triggering core collapse supernovae is not fully understood but observations of material ejected during such events helps to solve this puzzle. In particular, several satellite based γ -ray observations of the isotope 44Ti have been reported recently. Conveniently, the amount of this isotope in stellar ejecta is thought to depend critically on the explosion mechanism. The most influential reaction to the amount of 44Ti in supernovae is 44Ti(α, p)47V. Here we report on a direct study of this reaction conducted at the REX-ISOLDE facility, CERN. The experiment was performed with a 44Ti beam at Elab = 2.16 MeV/u, corresponding to an energy distribution, for reacting α-par…

Onomatopeya, imitación y poesía en Grecia y Roma

2019
