Facilitators and inhibitors of organic food buying behavior

Abstract Consumption patterns across the globe indicate consumers’ rising interest in purchasing organic food due to increasing personal-health consciousness. However, research on organic food shows a low translation of this interest into stated preferences for purchasing organic food. Limited academic research has explored this puzzling buying behavior of consumers, particularly in developed economies such as Japan. Our study addresses this gap by examining the factors that facilitate or inhibit Japanese consumers’ buying behavior toward organic food. Alginate/silica composite hydrogel as a potential morphogenetically active scaffold for three-dimensional tissue engineering

Pursuing our aim to develop a biomimetic synthetic scaffold suitable for tissue engineering, we embedded bone cells, osteoblast-related SaOS-2 cells and osteoclast-like RAW 264.7 cells, into beads, formed of a Na-alginate-based or a silica-containing Na-alginate-based hydrogel matrix. The beads were incubated either separately (only one cell line in a culture dish) or co-incubated (SaOS-2-containing beads and RAW 264.7 beads). The alginate and alginate/silica hydrogel matrices were found not to impair the viability of the encapsulated cells. Se utilizaron entrevistas semi-estructuradas como instrumento de recogida de datos cualitativos y se realizó un análisis temático inductivo. The psychological, psychotherapeutic and medical dimensions of the activities of social services in Poland

Abstract The article is an attempt to look at the issue of functioning of social services in Poland from an interdisciplinary perspective, presenting common areas of activity of professionals with socio-pedagogical affiliation with representatives of psychological, psychotherapeutic and medical environments. The considerations relate not only to the literature of the subject, but also to the research of the authors in this regard. The purpose of the presented reflection is also to indicate the areas of interdisciplinary scientific cooperation, including research. Its effect could be generating new research problems and solving them in the course of the work of interdisciplinary teams.
Health-related messages about physical activity promotion: an analysis of photographs on social networking sites of universities

ABSTRACTThe main aim of this study was to examine how different physical activity domains are represented on the official social media sites of Spanish universities, through a content analysis of the photographs. Our results show that the representation of different physical activity domains is not balanced. While the analysed images do promote a message of gender equality in sedentary and leisure time physical activity behaviour, pictures illustrating active commuting and disabled groups were under-represented. While initiatives are made to engage disadvantaged user groups in innovation, people with intellectual disabilities tend to be excluded from design activities. AbstractClient participation is a basic principle in rehabilitation encounters. Coping at home after stroke requires self-confidence and autonomy, which can be enhanced by active collaboration and knowledge sharing. Earlier studies show, however, that clients are not always offered the role of an active participant in physiotherapy practice. Sport has been promoted as a means of increasing the social inclusion of persons with intellectual disabilities. Suitable tools for evaluating this claim are not readily available. The aim of this study was to develop a self-report tool for use by people with intellectual disabilities regarding the social inclusion they experience in sport and in the community. A three-phase process was used. In the first phase an item bank of questionnaire items was created and field-tested with 111 participants. Validity and reliability of the motivation for physical activity (RM4-FM) questionnaire

There is a lack of validated instruments measuring motivation for physical activity (RM4-FM) in the Finnish language. The study examined the translated RM4-FM instrument’s psychometric properties in a sample of healthy, older Finnish adults. RM4-FM was translated and linguistically validated adhering to published guidelines. 65–75-year olds (n=102), completed the RM4-FM, the physical activity acceptance questionnaire (PAAQ) and sociodemographic characteristics questionnaires electronically.
