DISTRIBUIÇÃO DE CUSTOS: UM ESTUDO NO PORTO DE VALÊNCIA
2016
Acetaldehyde operant self-administration in rats: focus on D2-receptor activation.
2013
Acetaldehyde (ACD), ethanol first metabolite, is rewarding in rodents and humans; it induces “place preference”, is self-administer directly in the VTA, orally in an operant/conflict paradigm and increases DA neurons’ firing. This research aims at investigating DA2-receptor role in the reinstatement of acetaldehyde operant-drinking behaviour, following induction, maintenance and abstinence in the rat. Male Wistar rats are trained to orally self-administer ACD solution (3.2% v/v) or water, in an operant chamber under a FR1. Afterwards animals undergo cyclic periods of deprivation and relapse to ACD. The effect ofD2-receptor activation by quinpirole (0.03mg/kg,i.p.) on operant ACD self-admini…
Self-referral to chest pain units: results of the German CPU-registry
2012
Chest pain units (CPUs) are increasingly established in emergency cardiology services. With improved visibility of CPUs in the population, patients may refer themselves directly to these units, obviating emergency medical services (EMS). Little is known about characteristics and outcomes of self-referred patients, as compared with those referred by EMS. Therefore, we described self-referral patients enrolled in the CPU-registry of the German Cardiac Society and compared them with those referred by EMS.From 2008 until 2010, the prospective CPU-registry enrolled 11,581 consecutive patients. Of those 3789 (32.7%) were self-referrals (SRs), while 7792 (67.3%) were referred by EMS. SR-patients w…
Acute effects of different foam rolling volumes in the interset rest period on maximum repetition performance
2017
Background - Foam rolling (FR) is a ubiquitous intervention utilised for the purpose of acutely increasing the range of motion without subsequent decreases in performance. Thus, it is commonly used during the periworkout period—that is, prior to, during, or after an athlete's workout.\ud \ud Objective - This study investigated how different FR durations applied to the quadriceps during the interset rest periods affects the numbers of repetitions in the knee extension exercise.\ud \ud Methods - Twenty-five females completed four sets of knee extensions with 10 repetitions of maximum load to concentric failure on four occasions. Between each set, a 4-minute rest interval was implemented in wh…
Engineering Self-adaptive Systems: From Experiences with MUSA to a General Design Process
2019
Designing and developing complex self-adaptive systems require design processes having specific features fitting and representing the complexity of these systems. Changing requirements, users’ needs and dynamic environment have to be taken in consideration, also considering that, due of the self-adaptive nature of the system, the solution is not fixed at design time but it is a run-time outcome. Traditional design approach and life cycles are not suitable to design software systems where requirements continuously change at runtime. A new design process paradigm is needed to design such systems. In this Chapter, we present a retrospective analysis based on three projects developed in the las…
A methodological proposal for designing a local cultural indicators system based on the strategic planning
2014
This paper aims to propose a theoretical framework for designing a Local Cultural Indicators System by considering the one provided by UNESCO for Cultural Statistics and the A…
Relation between health literacy, self-care and adherence to treatment with oral anticoagulants in adults: a narrative systematic review
2018
Background Oral anticoagulants (OAC) are widely used in patients with cardiovascular diseases. However, for optimal OAC self-care patients must have skills, among which health literacy (HL) is highlighted. We aimed to describe the relation between HL and self-care in cardiovascular patients on OAC treatment. Methods Electronic searches were carried out in the PubMed, Scopus, Embase, CINAHL, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, SciELO, IME-Biomedicina, CUIDEN Plus and LILACS databases, limited to Spanish and English language and between January 2000–December 2016. Papers reported on adults older than 18 years, taking OAC by themselves for at least three months. PRISMA guidelines were used for p…
Los modelos de gestión en el cumplimiento de los objetivos empresariales. Caso de Estudio: Cia. de Transportes 27 de Mayo S.A.
2018
SMEs in Ecuador do not apply a model of administrative management, and this is based because in the country the largest percentage of companies are small, medium and micro Enterprises (SMEs), so the consequence of the lack of a management model affects the Work efficiency and process management. The objective of this study is to make known the importance of the use of management models in small and micro enterprises, taking into consideration different theoretical positions for the design of a management model that could be applied in the SMEs of the Ecuador.
The Affective Geography of Paris in the 19th Century Romanian Novel: Between Admiration and Aversion
2020
Based on “The Emotions of London”, a research project initiated at the Stanford Literary Lab, my article focuses on two relevant issues. First of all, I aim to demonstrate, as the “geography of emotions” experiment has already proved, that distant reading approaches and big data interpretation do not necessarily have to replace traditional methods of analysis. In other words, by using a corpus of 157 texts, I intend to outline the affective image of Paris as presented in the nineteenth century Romanian novel. Secondly, the aspect that makes my article different from “The Emotions of London” is that my purpose does not lie in analysing emotions associated with certain place-names in Paris, b…
An Investigation of the Roles of Group Identification, Perceived Ability, and Evaluative Conditions in Stereotype Threat Experiences
2019
The Multi-Threat Framework distinguishes six qualitatively distinct stereotype threats. Up to now, few studies have been performed to identify the situational and individual determinants of different stereotype threat experiences. This study investigates the role of group identification, perceived ability, and evaluative conditions (private/public) in six stereotype threat experiences for 261 French Physical Education Students. The results show that the expression level of the different stereotype threats does not vary according to evaluative conditions. In contrast, group identification affects all the forms of stereotype threats, and for three forms of stereotype threats, this effect is …
