The naves of churches and the halls of noble palaces. The paintings that decorate these ceilings are precious evidence of the wide cultural connections that linked Sicily to Europe and to the Mediterranean area. The paper reports the results of research aiming at the development of a workflow for the creation of a digital atlas of these ceilings. Digital representation overcomes one of the main obstacles to the study, the preservation and the dissemination of these works of art, i.e. the traditional dichotomy between photographic images and drawings. Šajā bakalaura darbā tiek analizēta vispārējo tiesību principu atvasināšana no pamatnormas Satversmes tiesas judikatūrā. Analīze tiek veikta, kā metodoloģisku instrumentu izmantojot Imanuela Kanta nošķīrumu starp sintētiskiem un analītiskiem spriedumiem. Izpētes rezultātā tiek secināts, ka Satversmes tiesas nolēmumi izmaina pamatnormas jēdzienu tiktāl, ciktāl šie nolēmumi netiek skatīti kā jaunas tiesiskās realitātes konstituēšana, un ka šī transformācija ir vērtējama pozitīvi, jo tā kalpo kā atsvars un risinājums iespējamībai, ka pamatnormas sākotnēji iedibinātajā sistēmā iemīt trūkumi vai pretrunas.
EMU and Trade Revisited: Long-Run Evidence Using Gravity Equations

In this paper, we present evidence of the long-run effect of the euro on trade for the twelve initial EMU countries for the period 1967–2008 from a double perspective. First, we pool all the bilateral combinations of trade flows among the EMU countries in a panel cointegration gravity specification. Second, we estimate a gravity equation for each of the EMU members vis-a-vis the other eleven partners. We apply panel cointegration techniques based on factor models that account for cross-dependence and structural breaks. We present sequence data from two genomic regions of foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) subjected to several experimental passage regimens. Maximum-likelihood estimates of the nonsynonymous-to-synonymous rate ratio parameter (dN/dS) suggested the action of positive selection on some antigenic sites of the FMDV capsid during some experimental passages. These antigenic sites showed an accumulation of convergent amino acid replacements during massive serial cytolytic passages and also in persistent infections of FMDV in cell culture. This accumulation was most significant at the antigenic site A (the G-H loop of capsid VP1), which includes an Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) cellular recognition motif. Our …
