Myndighetene formulerte målet om et kjønnsblandet arbeidsliv for ti år siden. Graden av måloppnåelse for enkelte yrkesgrupper er noe belyst, men det finnes lite kjønnsspesifikk forskning innen vernepleieryrket. Formålet med denne studien har vært å undersøke og beskrive hva som kjennetegner mannlige vernepleiere og deres yrkesvalg. I tillegg har vi undersøkt hvilke faktorer hos menn som har sammenheng med å ta et bevisst valg om å bli vernepleier. Resultatene er basert på data fra SSB og en spørreundersøkelse blant mannlige vernepleiere (n=487). Tall fra SSB tyder på at aldersfordelingen blant mannlige vernepleiere kan være i endring. The Abelian Kernel of an Inverse Semigroup

The problem of computing the abelian kernel of a finite semigroup was first solved by Delgado describing an algorithm that decides whether a given element of a finite semigroup S belongs to the abelian kernel. Steinberg extended the result for any variety of abelian groups with decidable membership. In this paper, we used a completely different approach to complete these results by giving an exact description of the abelian kernel of an inverse semigroup. An abelian group that gives this abelian kernel was also constructed.

During lactation, adult female mice display aggressive responses toward male intrud-ers, triggered by male- derived chemosensory signals. This aggressive behavior is not shown by pup- sensitized virgin females sharing pup care with dams. The genetic mechanisms underlying the switch from attraction to aggression are unknown. In this work, we investigate the differential gene expression in lactating females ex-pressing maternal aggression compared to pup- sensitized virgin females in the me-dial amygdala (Me), a key neural structure integrating chemosensory and hormonal information.
