Cyberloafing and cyberslacking in the workplace: systematic literature review of past achievements and future promises
2021
PurposeScholars are increasingly focusing on the adverse effects of digitization on human lives in personal and professional contexts. Cyberloafing is one such effect and digitization-related workplace behavior that has garnered attention in both academic and mainstream media. However, the existing literature is fragmented and needs to be consolidated to generate a comprehensive and contemporary overview of cyberloafing research and map its current intellectual boundaries. The purpose of this paper is to shed some light on systematic literature review (SLR) in cyberloafing and cyberslacking in the workplace.Design/methodology/approachA SLR is conducted to assimilate the existing research. A…

Viatonta raittiusjuomaa : miedosta ja keskivahvasta mallasjuomasta käydyt eduskuntakeskustelut 1926 - 1940
2013
Uptake prediction of nine heavy metals by Eichhornia crassipes grown in irrigation canals: A biomonitoring approach
2021
The principal objective of this study is to generate mathematical regression equations that facilitate the estimation of the extent to which Eichhornia crassipes (C. Mart.) Solms, water hyacinth, absorbs heavy metals (HMs) into four plant organs (laminae, petioles, roots, and stolons). This study considers the absorption of nine HMs (Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, and Zn), and the E. crassipes evaluated in this study were located in three irrigation canals in the North Nile Delta in Egypt, with sampling being conducted in both monospecific and homogenous E. crassipes. Samples of both E. crassipes and water were collected on a monthly basis during one growing season. Analysis of the water s…
Inverting Multiple Residual Stress Components from Multiple Cuts with the Contour Method
2007
An extension of the contour method is presented which allows the measurement of multiple stress components by making multiple cuts. In the contour method, a body is carefully cut in two using wire electric discharge machining (EDM). The contours, or shapes, of the cut surfaces are then measured and used to calculate the original residual stress normal to the cut plane using a simple finite element calculation. In the extension presented here, the two pieces from the original body can be cut again in a transverse direction, and the contours of the new cut surfaces are measured. The stresses calculated on the planes of these second cuts have been affected by the first cut. Then a simple inver…
Electrochemical treatment of paper mill wastewater by electro-Fenton process
2019
Abstract The electrochemical oxidation of organics in paper mill wastewater belonging to Halfa industries (Tunisia) was performed by galvanostatic electrolyses using electro-Fenton (EF) process. The effect of several operating parameters, such as applied current density, electrodes material, air pressure and the presence of sodium chloride (NaCl) was evaluated. In particular, carbon felt (CF), modified carbon felt (MCF) and gas diffusion electrode (GDE) were used as cathode while Ti/IrO2-Ta2O5 and Boron Doped Diamond (BDD) as anode. Total Organic Carbon (TOC) measure was chosen as reference parameter to assess the extent of the treatment. The experimental results show that, by adopting the …
Experimental investigation of low-frequency pulsed Lorentz force influence on the motion of Galinstan melt
2016
Abstract The paper presents the results of the numerical and physical experiments, aimed at assessing the influence of pulsed force of electromagnetic field on the melt motion and the fluid velocities. The experiment was performed on the eutectic alloy Galinstan in the cylindrical volume, where an ultrasonic Doppler velocimeter was employed for velocity measurements under conditions of pulsed and steady EM field application. A numerical simulation of the melt flow, forced by the steady EM force, involved a 2D axisymmetric model. The k-e turbulence model was used to obtain the information about the melt velocities. The verification of the numerical model was carried out for the steady case. …
Numerical model of turbulent CZ melt flow in the presence of AC and CUSP magnetic fields and its verification in a laboratory facility
2001
The paper describes a numerical simulation tool for heat and mass transfer processes in large diameter CZ crucibles under the influence of several non-rotating AC and CUSP magnetic fields. Such fields are expected to provide an additional means to influence the melt behaviour, particularly in the industrial growth of large diameter silicon crystals. The simulation tool is based on axisymmetric 2D models for the AC and CUSP magnetic fields in the whole CZ facility and turbulent hydrodynamics, temperature and mass transport in the melt under the influence of the electromagnetic fields. The simulation tool is verified by comparisons to experimental results from a laboratory CZ setup with eutec…
Musical Identity in Fostering Emotional Health
2017
This chapter introduces promotion of emotional health as a relevant constituent of musical identity. The chapter contains discussion about the importance of emotions as a key constituent of health and wellbeing referring to the abilities of emotion recognition and emotion regulation and the significance of inducing positive emotions. Music is introduced as a behaviour that has the capacity to effectively promote these core aspects of emotional health and wellbeing and it is argued that these emotion-related capabilities serve as essential routes through which music relates to health. It is proposed that a musical identity that fosters emotional health contains self-reflective awareness of t…
Business strategy in new high‐tech ventures: an empirical analysis
1999
The aim of this study is to determine the existence of specific and unique features characterising markets, activities and customers in at least two of the most representative high technology sectors nowadays, the microelectronics/software industry and the biotechnology/biomedical industry. Cross‐Tabs statistical method has been used to analyze the data collected from the sample made up by 18 high‐tech American firms. One of the major findings of this study is that the business strategy will hold better prospects in those high‐tech firms benefiting from a higher technological excellence, having spent longer time in developing and launching their products, being able to keep longer the novel…
