Results: The best fitting model was the one in which the religious coping dimension was removed, leaving the remaining dimensions defined by problem- and emotion-focused coping, which explained both psychological and subjective well-being factors (χ2(46)=165.910, p<.001; CFI=.906; GFI=.957; RMSEA=.058 [.048, .067]). Discussion: Results pointed the rele…

Problemas adolescentes en Iberoamérica

2002

Data gathered in an Iberoamerican descriptive-comparative study on adolescent students are reported. Samples include subjects living in three different Argentine urban regions (Buenos Aires, Tucuman and Patagonia) and in the city of Valencia (Spain). For psychological assessment the Symptom Checklist (SCL – 90 – R), a sociodemographic survey including an open question on the most important emotional problem experienced during last year and a coping scale, in their Spanish versions, were used. We present data on reported problems, analyzed by sex, age and region, pointing out main differences found.

Sources of stress and scholarly identity: the case of international doctoral students of education in Finland

2020

AbstractAlthough stressors and coping strategies have been examined in managing stress associated with doctoral education, stress continues to have a permeating and pernicious effect on doctoral students’ experience of their training and, by extension, their future participation in the academic community. International doctoral students have to not only effectively cope with tensions during their training and their socialization in their discipline but also address the values and expectations of higher education institutions in a foreign country. Considering the increase of international doctoral students in Finland, this study focuses on perceived sources of stress in their doctoral traini…

Study Protocol—Coping With the Pandemics: What Works Best to Reduce Anxiety and Depressive Symptoms

We will conduct a prospective longitudinal study of the associations between coping behaviors and subsequent anxiety and depressive symptoms during the COVID-19 pandemic in a representative sample of the Spanish general adult population. Methods: We will recruit 1,000 adult participants from all autonomous communities of Spain and with s…
