Assessment of emotional intelligence in a sample of prospective Secondary Education Teachers

AbstractIn the past few years, skills related to emotional intelligence (EI) have acquired special relevance in the educational domain. This study assesses EI in a sample of 155 students of 5 different specialities of a Master’s degree in Teacher Training for Secondary Education. Data collection was conducted through the administration of the Trait Meta Mood Scale-24 (TMMS-24) and the Mayer, Salovey & Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT). The study is aimed at exploring if individuals’ levels of EI in adolescent immigrants of second generation are related to different indicators of psychosocial adjustment, such as individual well-being, social relationships with peers, scholastic performance and motivation. The Role of Emotional Intelligence in Health Care Professionals Burnout

The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between Emotional Intelligence (EI) and burnout in health care professionals. More specifically, this survey has the purpose of demonstrating the role of EI as a protective factor against the risk of burnout. Health professionals (doctors, nurses, and other caregivers) composed the sample. Data, collected during professional training, provided 148 employees.
