Organizations worldwide are adopting enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. A number of studies discuss the implementation and success of such systems, but our study of the literature indicates that discussions about ERP systems success from the perspectives of key organizational stakeholders are not easy to come across. This chapter presents findings from a study of the implementation of an enterprise system in an organization. The implementation process is viewed from a dialectic perspective, which means thinking in terms of contradictions. This chapter raises the following research question: how can we understand contradictions in enterprise system (ES) implementations? The genes crucially determining the therapeutic response of chronic myelogenous leukaemia (CML) to interferon-alpha (IFN-alpha) are unknown. Recently, two independent IFN-alpha signalling pathways were identified: the classic pathway mediates induction of 2'-5' oligoadenylate synthetase (2-5 OAS), p68 kinase and IFN regulatory factor-2 (IRF-2), whereas the alternate pathway leads to activation of IFN regulatory factor-1 (IRF-1). Analizując wpływ romantyzmu na religię, dochodzi się do wniosku, że relacja literatury do religii może mieć ambiwalentny charakter. W prezentowanym artykule ambiwalencja ta zostanie zilustrowana poprzez rozwinięcie dwóch tez. Z jednej strony zostanie pokazane, iż romantyzm swoją fascynacją dla tego, co tajemnicze, wyświadczył religii pewną przysługę, a z drugiej, że swoim zamiłowaniem do tego, co uczuciowe, oraz swoim pielgrzymowaniem do wspomnień przyczynił się do wzrostu postawy pasywności w dziedzinie religijności.

A runner’s high depends on cannabinoid receptors in mice

Exercise is rewarding, and long-distance runners have described a runner's high as a sudden pleasant feeling of euphoria, anxiolysis, sedation, and analgesia. A popular belief has been that endogenous endorphins mediate these beneficial effects. However, running exercise increases blood levels of both β-endorphin (an opioid) and anandamide (an endocannabinoid). Using a combination of pharmacologic, molecular genetic, and behavioral studies in mice, we demonstrate that cannabinoid receptors mediate acute anxiolysis and analgesia after running.
