Chemosensory reactivity and food neophobia in preschool children: impact of smell, but not of taste

2014

Context and objective: Recent studies suggested that sensory sensitivity could be linked to food neophobia, described as the reluctance to eat, or the avoidance of, new foods. The objective of the present study was twofold. Firstly, this study aimed at assessing the links between smell reactivity and taste reactivity in children. Secondly, this study assessed the links between children’s smell/taste reactivity and food neophobia. The hypothesis was that the higher the chemosensory reactivity of the child, the more the child is neophobic. Method: One hundred and three dyads of mother-child, from the Opaline cohort, were involved. The child’s food neophobia was assessed using a validated pare…

Smell but not taste reactivity is related to food neophobia in toddlers: results from the Opaline cohort

2014

National audience; Context and objective: Research has previously identified relationships between chemosensory reactivity and food neophobia in toddlers. However, most studies have addressed this question using declarative data, and without analyzing separately smell and taste. The objective of the present study was twofold. The first objective was to assess the relationships between olfactory reactivity and taste reactivity in toddlers, using experimental designs with different tastants and odorants. The second objective was to determine the relationships between olfactory /taste reactivity and food neophobia in toddlers. The hypothesis was that the higher the chemosensory reactivity of t…

2022

Artykuł dotyczy działalności Jerzego Grotowskiego w okresie opolskim i historii Teatru 13 Rzędów w latach 1959–1964. Autorka wykorzystuje różnego typu dokumenty zgromadzone w trakcie długoletnich badań nad politycznymi uwarunkowaniami artystycznej działalności Grotowskiego: rozmowy ze świadkami, listy, wspomnienia, akta osobowe, dokumenty cenzury i materiały pochodzące z archiwów Instytutu Pamięci Narodowej (w tym raporty organów bezpieczeństwa oparte na donosach), aby naszkicować portret Grotowskiego jako dyrektora teatru. Dzięki zestawieniu i analizie tych dokumentów pokazuje skalę inwigilacji Teatru 13 Rzędów, prezentuje stosowane przez władzę metody niebezpośredniej kontroli artystów i …

Not just daycare: nordic mothers in research, development and innovation navigating work and childcare

2022

Nordic welfare policies mitigate work–childcare reconciliation; however, they are not enough for mothers working in intensive work cultures. In addition, there are differences among the three Nordic states in both work–family policies and cultural norms as to how they should be used. In this article, we study the resources mothers who work in research, development and innovation (R&D&I) in Finland, Norway and Sweden rely on in their work–childcare reconciliation. Thematic analysis of interviews with 74 professionals resulted in identifying four main resources: father involvement, parental leave system and daycare, flexible working, and grandparent help and networks. Our analysis brings to v…

Nuoren ja vanhemman temperamenttiyhdistelmät ja niiden yhteys nuoren sosioemotionaaliseen kehitykseen

2015

ELECTROCHEMICAL H2O2 SENSORS BASED ON Pd and Cu NANOSTRUCUTERS

2018

In the last decades, with the fast improvement of electronics, the field of sensors is highly expanding. The basic idea of sensors is to detect something and then trigger a corresponding action. This simple, but very important, concept can be used in different fields: from chemical industries to farms, from the environmental monitoring [1] to a point of care analysis [2]. Currently, talking about sensing of chemical species, different techniques are used, such as Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (GFAAS), Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectroscopy (ICP-MS), IR spectroscopy, redox titration and so on. Despite they are highly efficient in …

Senso e significati: un esempio

2018
