Il dinamismo e la competitività delle imprese italiane: le high-growth enterprises e le gazzelle familiari e non familiari.

2019

A high percentage of businesses comes to an end shortly after birth. This highly vulnerable condition is a hallmark of young businesses, as early stage survival rates are low in all countries and industries. This paper recalls the main causes of vulnerability of companies in their start-up phase, whose knowledge is useful to prevent their manifestation and, in this way, to encourage the creation of companies more likely to overcome the difficult first stage of life. To promote economic development, however, it is not enough to create businesses, they have to last over time. To identify the characteristics that businesses – and therefore also young ones – must possess in order to survive and…

2013

Agriculture is a business sector ideally suited for the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) because it is natural resource based, requires the movement, distribution, and/or utilization of large quantities of products, goods, and services, and is increasingly required to record details of its business operations from the field to the marketplace. Nearly all agricultural data has some form of spatial component, and a GIS allows you to visualize information that might otherwise be difficult to interpret. Environment has a major impact on agriculture. In this paper we presented how GIS software can be used to analyze risk factors that influence agricultural production naturally…

ERP systems in SMEs: A literature review

2011

Published version of a chapter in Proceedings of the 44th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences. Also available from the publisher: http://doi.dx.org/10.1109/HICSS.2011.191 This review summarizes research on enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs). Due to the close-to-saturation of ERP adoptions in large enterprises (LEs), ERP vendors now focus more on SMEs. Moreover, because of globalization, partnerships, value networks, and the huge information flow across and within SMEs nowadays, more and more SMEs are adopting ERP systems. Risks of adoption rely on the fact that SMEs have limited resources and specific characteristics that ma…

Brevi riflessioni sullo statuto pubblicistico degli amministratori nel Testo Unico

2019

In this article, by examining some regulatory profiles concerning the directors of publicly owned companies in the light of the Consolidated Law and relative jurisprudential applications, the Author picks up on a contradiction in the normative data and therefore a systematic inconsistency with respect to the possibility of configuring the by-laws applicable to them in strictly public or private terms (despite the approach in this sense, as laid out in art. 1, paragraph 3 of the TUSP, which subjects public companies to the code of law on capital companies). In this perspective, the provisions relating to the appointment and revocation of publicly appointed directors are taken into considerat…

Government Architecture: Concepts, Use and Impact

2013

Part 3: Service Design and Improvement; International audience; Government architecture (GA) is a relatively young discipline in which concepts are slowly emerging. Often terms and concepts are used in various ways and there is no uniform agreement on these concepts. Further, the relationship between GA, benefits and public value creation is unclear. In this paper we unravel and define GA concepts that are often used by governments. Although GA is used in different ways there are common concepts. GA practice in two different countries, the Netherlands and Norway, indicates that although the Netherlands clearly has more experience with GA than Norway, both countries employ similar concepts. …

Facing the inevitable? : The public telecom monopoly’s way of coping with deregulation

2016

AbstractThe telecommunications industry has gone through a total restructure since the late 1970s, as state-owned national monopolies have given way to listed enterprises and competitive international markets. Scholars have explained wide-ranging privatisation and deregulation at a general level, but what happened to the former state-owned monopolies and how they adapted to the emerging business-oriented environment, has had with less scrutiny. It has been assumed that external factors caused these institutions to adapt a business approach, but did these organisations themselves have any significant power of decision in these processes? This article explains how one of these former state or…
