Isolation and characterization of microsatellite markers in the liver fluke (Fasciola hepatica)

PRIMER NOTE; International audience; Six microsatellite markers were isolated from Fasciola hepatica, a re-emerging parasite that causes important veterinary and public health problems. In a sample of 52 liver flukes from a region of hyperendemicity (Bolivian Altiplano), five microsatellite were polymorphic. Our results showed that liver flukes present important genetic variability, suggesting a preferential outcrossing reproduction mode for this hermaphroditic parasite.

Możliwość wykonywania, za pomocą mikrotomu typu „core--microtome”,preparatów z całych wywiertów wygenerowała problem związany ze stabilizacją preparatów podczas procesu pozyskiwania i zapis ich obrazu. Zaproponowane ostatnio dwa adaptery do długich preparatów mikroskopowych rozwiązały problem ich stabilizacji oraz umożliwiły kontrolę pozycji docelowych fragmentów w polu widzenia obiektywu. Konstrukcje te nie rozwiązują wszystkich potrzeb pojawiających się podczas pozyskiwania obrazu na potrzeby ilościowej anatomii drewna. Micelles in Mixtures of Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate and a Bolaform Surfactant

Mixtures composed of water, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), and a bolaform surfactant with two aza-crown ethers as polar headgroups (termed Bola C-16) were investigated by modulating the mole ratios between the components. The two surfactants have ionic and nonionic, but ionizable, headgroups, respectively. The ionization is due to the complexation of alkali ions by the aza-crown ether unit(s). Structural, thermodynamic, and transport properties of the above mixtures were investigated. La HPLC es actualmente la técnica analítica de separación más extendida, debido a su amplio campo de aplicación, fiabilidad, robustez y sensibilidad. Bakalaura darbs sastāv no ievada, piecām daļām, secinājumiem un pielikumiem. Tēmas aktualitāti nosaka strauji pieaugošs onkoloģisko saslimšanu skaits, kā arī arvien vairāk slimniekiem tiek ordinēta skeleta scintigrāfija. Fascioliasis is caused by the genetically and phenotypically very close Fasciola hepatica and F. gigantica. The latter, always considered secondary in human infection, appears nowadays increasingly involved in human endemic areas of Africa and Asia. Unfortunately, little is known about the pathogenicity of this liver fluke species, mainly due to difficulties assessing the moment of a patient's infection in the anamnesis and in the differential diagnosis with F. hepatica.
