Tietokoneavusteinen tunneanalyysi : uusi näkökulma merkitykselliseen dialogiin
2014
Tutkimuksemme tavoitteena oli tarkastella tietokoneavusteisen tunneanalyysin mahdollisuuksia ja rajoitteita osana “The Relational Mind in Events of Change in Multi-actor Therapeutic Dialog” -tutkimusprojektia. Tunneanalyysissa käytimme Facereader -kasvojentunnistusohjelmistoa, jolla analysoimme nelinkeskisestä terapeuttisesta tilanteesta suoraan kuvattua videomateriaalia. Aiemmin tietokoneavusteista tunneanalyysia on hyödynnetty tutkimusprojektissa vain terapian jälkihaastattelussa. Keskityimme analyysissa terapiaistunnon toiseen asiakkaaseen, sekä erityisesti tämän relationaalisiin hymyhetkiin suhteessa muihin terapiatilanteessa oleviin henkilöihin. Luokittelimme hymyhetket niiden ilmiasun…
Retrospective Experiences of First-Episode Psychosis Treatment Under Open Dialogue-Based Services: A Qualitative Study.
2021
AbstractOpen Dialogue (OD) is an integrated approach to mental health care, which has demonstrated promising outcomes in the treatment of first-episode psychosis (FEP) in Finnish Western Lapland region. However, little is known how treatment under OD is retrospectively experienced by the service users themselves. To address this, twenty participants from the original Western Lapland research cohort diagnosed with psychosis (F20–F29) were asked about their treatment of FEP, initiated under OD 10–23 years previously. Thematic analysis was used to explore how the treatment was experienced. Most participants viewed network treatment meetings as an important part of their treatment, as they enab…
Hospitalisation and length of hospital stay following first-episode psychosis:Systematic review and meta-analysis of longitudinal studies
2019
AbstractBackgroundReducing hospitalisation and length of stay (LOS) in hospital following first episode psychosis (FEP) is important, yet reliable measures of these outcomes and their moderators are lacking. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the proportion of FEP cases who were hospitalised after their first contact with services and the LOS in a hospital during follow-up.MethodsStudies were identified from a systematic search across major electronic databases from inception to October 2017. Random effects meta-analyses and meta-regression analyses were conducted.Results81 longitudinal studies encompassing data for 23 280 FEP patients with an average follow-u…
Staging systems in bipolar disorder: an International Society for Bipolar Disorders Task Force Report
2014
Objective: We discuss the rationale behind staging systems described specifically for bipolar disorders. Current applications, future directions and research gaps in clinical staging models for bipolar disorders are outlined. Method: We reviewed the literature pertaining to bipolar disorders, focusing on the first episode onwards. We systematically searched data on staging models for bipolar disorders and allied studies that could inform the concept of staging. Results: We report on several dimensions that are relevant to staging concepts in bipolar disorder. We consider whether staging offers a refinement to current diagnoses by reviewing clinical studies of treatment and functioning and t…
Persistance of residual vein thrombosis after an episode of deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs and the risk of new cancer and cardiovascular dis…
2006
8531 Background: In patients with a first episode of idiopathic or provoked Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), the presence of Residual Vein Thrombosis (RVT), detected by UltraSonography (US) at the 3rd month from the index DVT, is an independent risk factor for developing recurrent Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) in the subsequent 2 years. Its absence can safely permit to stop Oral Anticoagulants (OA). At the present, it is unknown whether RVT may also identify patients at increased risk for developing cancer and/or cardiovascular disease (CD). In patients with previous DVT of the lower limbs, we conducted a prospective study for evaluating the correlation between RVT findings and the risk of new c…
Genitourinary Symptoms—Patient Help-Seeking and General Practitioner Management: An Outpatient Based Survey at a Tertiary Hospital in Southern Italy
2015
Abstract Introduction General knowledge of most common genitourinary diseases is often lacking. In this survey we evaluated the attention given by patients and general practitioners to genitourinary symptoms, and particularly to hematuria and potential early signs of genitourinary cancer. Methods A structured self-administered questionnaire was administered to outpatients before the urological consultation. The questionnaire consisted of 4 multiple choice questions to record the level of patient awareness of urological symptoms, the importance given to gross hematuria, the interval between the onset and the visit, the regularity of physical examination and the first-level investigations ind…
Occurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma and decompensation in western european patients with cirrhosis type B
1995
To examine the morbidity of compensated cirrhosis type B, a cohort of 349 Western European, white patients (86% men; mean age, 44 years) with biopsy-proven cirrhosis was followed up for a mean period of 73 months and was studied for occurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and decompensation. At entry into the study all patients were tested for hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg; 34% of patients were HBeAg-positive) and antibody to hepatitis delta virus (anti-HDV; 20% of patients were anti-HDV-positive); 48% of 252 patients tested were hepatitis B virus (HBV)-DNA-positive. During follow-up HCC developed in 32 (9%) of the 349 patients and decompensation was observed in 88 (28%) of 317 tumor-fr…
Five-year experience of first-episode nonaffective psychosis in open-dialogue approach: Treatment principles, follow-up outcomes, and two case studies
2006
The open dialogue (OD) family and network approach aims at treating psychotic patients in their homes. The treatment involves the patient’s social network and starts within 24 hr after contact. Responsibility for the entire treatment process rests with the same team in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The general aim is to generate dialogue with the family to construct words for the experiences that occur when psychotic symptoms exist. In the Finnish Western Lapland a historical comparison of 5-year follow-ups of two groups of first-episode nonaffective psychotic patients were compared, one before (API group; n! /33) and the other during (ODAP group; n! /42) the fully developed phase…
Benthic foraminiferal assemblage turnover during intensification of the Northern Hemisphere glaciation in the Piacenzian Punta Piccola section (South…
2012
Abstract We present the results of a high-resolution analysis of the benthic foraminiferal assemblages at the Punta Piccola section (Stratotype for the Piacenzian Stage), which spans the gradual climate transition of the intensification of the Northern Hemisphere glaciation (3.6–2.6 Ma). This study highlighted a major benthic foraminiferal fauna turnover, which started at about 3.05 Ma with LO of Cibicidoides italicus , registered the gradual decline of Stilostomella spp. and culminated at about 2.7–2.75 Ma, when the dominant Siphonina reticulata was replaced by Cibicidoides pachyderma , costate Bulimine, spinose Bulimine, spinose Uvigerine and the Bolivina dilatata group. Four compositiona…
On the origin of ‘arrested’ charnockitization in the Chilka Lake area, Eastern Ghats Belt, India: a reappraisal
2000
Arrested-type charnockite formation occurs in an assemblage of high-grade gneisses at several localities of the Chilka Lake area that belongs to the Proterozoic Eastern Ghats Belt of India. The isolated ellipsoidal domains are found exclusively in leucogranite (leptynite) bands that intruded lit-par- lit interbanded granulite-grade supracrustal and intermediate igneous rocks (khondalite–enderbite). Macrostructures and microfabrics document a multiple deformation of the rock assemblage under high-grade conditions. The intrusion of the leucogranitic melts separates a first episode of deformation, D1, from a younger progressive deformation, D2–D4. A transpressive regime and inhomogeneous defor…
