Se encuentra en estos momentos en fase de tramitación el Anteproyecto de Ley sobre protección, bienestar y tenencia de animales de compañía de la Comunidad Valenciana, cuyo texto introduce importantes novedades en esta materia respecto a la normativa vigente en nuestro territorio. Además, el texto prevé la derogación de la actual Ley 4/1994, de 8 de julio, de la Generalitat, de protección de los animales de compañía (vid. Disposición Derogatoria Única del Anteproyecto). Transverse momentum dependence of inclusive primary charged-particle production in p–Pb collisions at √sNN=5.02 TeV

The transverse momentum (pT) distribution of primary charged particles is measured at midrapidity in minimum-bias p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC in the range 0.15 < pT < 50 GeV/c. The spectra are compared to the expectation based on binary collision scaling of particle production in pp collisions, leading to a nuclear modification factor consistent with unity for pT larger than 2 GeV/c, with a weak indication of a Cronin-like enhancement for pT around 4 GeV/c. The measurement is compared to theoretical calculations and to data in Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV. peerReviewed

ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) is studying the physics of strongly interacting matter, and in particular the properties of the Quark–Gluon Plasma (QGP), using proton–proton, proton–nucleus and nucleus–nucleus collisions at the CERN LHC (Large Hadron Collider). The ALICE Collaboration is preparing a major upgrade of the experimental apparatus, planned for installation in the second long LHC shutdown in the years 2018–2019. A key element of the ALICE upgrade is the construction of a new, ultra-light, high-resolution Inner Tracking System (ITS) based on monolithic CMOS pixel detectors. Although psychoanalysts are interested in symptom reduction as an outcome, they are looking for instruments to measure sustaining changes in the unconscious mental functioning. In this article it is discussed that conceptually well-founded transformation of manifest dreams analyzed with precise empirical methods could be considered as a promising indicator for such therapeutic changes.
