The aim of this study was to quantify the kinematic demands of wheelchair padel and to examine the activity profiles in professional players according to their functional level. Twenty-two elite players classified in functional level groups (from 1 to 4) were video-analysed with a two-dimensional DLT corrected video system across seven matches of a professional tournament. Chronic stress and early recurrence of takotsubo cardiomyopathy: A clinical case

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TC) is characterized by transient systolic dysfunction of the apical and middle segments of the left ventricle, accompanied by electrocardiographic abnormalities and mild elevation of cardiac biomarker levels in the absence of obstructive coronary artery disease. The following case is of a woman suffering from chronic emotional stress with a very early recurrence. An acute trigger event was not detectable in both cases. It is possible to suppose that, in predisposed subjects, chronic stress by increasing sympathetic activity may be considered not only a trigger for TC, but also a negative prognostic factor for early recurrence.

Abstract Introduction Ankyloblepharon-ectodermal defects-cleft lip/palate (AEC) syndrome, also known as Hay-Wells syndrome, is a rare genetic syndrome with ectodermal dysplasia. About 100 patients have been reported to date. It is associated to a heterozygous mutation of the tumor protein p63 (TP63) gene, located on chromosome 3q28. Typical clinical manifestations include: filiform ankyloblepharon adnatum (congenital adherence of the eyelids), ectodermal abnormalities (sparse and frizzy hair, skin defects, nail alterations, dental changes and hypohidrosis), and cleft lip/palate. Positive Effect of Steroids in Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome

We present a case of posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome with severe clinical manifestation. Apart from initial aphasia, hemiparesis, and a generalized seizure, the patient had a prolonged loss of consciousness. Although blood pressure was normalized, the clinical status deteriorated continuously. After adding steroids to the therapy, the patient recovered rapidly, suggesting that this could have been a useful therapeutic approach. Even the vasogenic edema in the cerebral magnetic resonance imaging disappeared shortly within 6 days.
