Shortwave Ultraviolet Persistent Luminescence of Sr2MgSi2O7: Pr3+

Currently, extensive research activities are devoted to developing persistent phosphors which extend beyond the visible range. In some emerging applications, long-lasting emission of high-energy photons is required; however, suitable materials for the shortwave ultraviolet (UV–C) band are extremely limited. This study reports a novel Sr2MgSi2O7 phosphor doped with Pr3+ ions, which exhibits UV–C persistent luminescence with maximum intensity at 243 nm. HKUST-1 is a metal-organic framework (MOF) which plays a significant role both in applicative and basic fields of research, thanks to its outstanding properties of adsorption and catalysis but also because it is a reference material for the study of many general properties of MOFs. Its metallic group comprises a pair of Cu2+ ions chelated by four carboxylate bridges, forming a structure known as paddle-wheel unit, which is the heart of the material. The clinical consequences of obesity on the kidneys, with or without metabolic abnormalities, involve both renal function and structures. The mechanisms linking obesity and renal damage are well understood, including several effector mechanisms with interconnected pathways. Higher prevalence of urinary albumin excretion, sub-nephrotic syndrome, nephrolithiasis, increased risk of developing CKD, and progression to ESKD have been identified as being associated with obesity and having a relevant clinical impact. Viimeaikaiset tutkimukset ovat osoittaneet, että formatiivisella arvioinnilla on positiivisia vaikutuksia opettamiseen ja oppimiseen. Myös tutkiva oppiminen kasvattaa suosiotaan tieteen opetuksessa. In the last decades several research laboratories have shown an increasing interest aimed at extending the applicability of Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) dosimetry to radiotherapy with different types of radiation beams. ESR is a spectroscopic method for investigating the structure and dynamics of such paramagnetic species. Free radicals are known to be produced when a compound is irradiated with ionizing radiations. Space-Time Forecasting of Seismic Events in Chile

The aim of this work is to study the seismicity in Chile using the ETAS (epidemic type aftershock sequences) space‐time approach. The proposed ETAS model is estimated using a semi‐parametric technique taking into account the parametric and nonparametric components corresponding to the triggered and background seismicity, respectively. The model is then used to predict the temporal and spatial intensity of events for some areas of Chile where recent large earthquakes (with magnitude greater than 8.0 M) occurred.
