Localisée en limite SE de l’agglomération rémoise, sur la commune de Cernay-les-Reims, l’emprise de l’opération porte sur une surface de 11 300 m2. Cette neuvième concentration de vestiges, fouillée sur un parc d’activité, correspond à un établissement rural de l’Antiquité tardive, prolongé à l’époque médiévale par une zone d’activité artisanale. Ces deux occupations se développent le long d’un axe de circulation qui perdure vraisemblablement de l’Antiquité à la première guerre mondiale.

The sector of the Saint-Étienne necropolis (Beaune), reveals the existence of two clearly separated zones which are characterized by different funeral and cultural practices: tomb architecture, archaeological material and artificially deformed crania. This seems to provide evidence of two distinct groups. A preliminary morpho-metrical study of four skulls and the examination of several CT scans of three of them, allow us to confirm the presence of artificial antero-posterior cranial deformations.

Le village actuel de Fontaines, situé à environ 8 km au N.-O. de Chalon-sur-Saône, se développe sur 1,5 km de long selon un unique axe E-O, depuis la montagne Saint-Hilaire à l’ouest, occupée au Néolithique puis durant l’Antiquité tardive et le haut Moyen Âge, jusqu’à l’église paroissiale Saint-Just, à l’est. Malgré une emprise limitée et contrainte par de nombreux réseaux existants, l’opération a permis de documenter l’environnement immédiat de l’église, occupé depuis l’Antiquité jusqu’à nos jours.

The preventive archaeological excavations conducted by Inrap under the direction of Édith Peytremann in 2010, in the commune of Pfulgriesheim in the Kochersberg region, led to the discovery of a settlement sector occupied from the middle of the 7th century to the end of the 11th century. The singularity of the site lies in the absence of any pole constructions and the subdivision of the sector, from the 10th century onwards, by building on cellars associated with excavated huts, pits, and silos. The dynamics tend to show a retraction of the latter from the beginning of the 8th century to the middle of the 10th century, while it is marked by the presence of a funerary complex arranged along …
