2021
This study, based on the materials of the 1948 investigation of the Ministry of State Security of the Latvian SSR, traces and analyzes the scientific and administrative activities of Theodor Upners (1898-1992) during the Nazi occupation regime in Latvia. From 1942 until the end of the occupation in 1944, Upners was formally the leading eugenics specialist in Latvia. España y la UE: objetivo ideológico y proyecto político (1978-2018)
2018
The Development of Finland’s Higher Education System After the Second World War – Towards a Welfare State
2019

Higher education played a crucial role in these processes, resulting in a Nordic Welfare State in the 1980s. The author gives an overview of the major political changes in Finland between the 1940s and the 2010s.
A Fascism That Came to Stay? On Spanish Falange’s Political Culture
2019
Sanz offers a synthetic analysis on the development of the fascist political culture in Spain, as part of the renewed recent Spanish historiography and the integration of the history of that country in its European context. To that end, he explores its cultural roots in the renewed nationalism developed since the turn of the century and its ideological and political construction in the assault on the Second Republic’s democracy. Likewise, it shows the development of the political culture of Falange, fully fascist based on an ultranationalistic, regenerationist, “revolutionary” and “traditional” synthesis, in dialectic with the cultures of the reactionary nationalism and the Catholic right. …
From the Reformation to the End of Swedish Rule – Laying the Foundations of a National University
2019
The history of the Swedish Kingdom is looked at from the perspective of education. The chapter begins by an analysis of the Reformation, a deep political and religious change, in the sixteenth century. During the Reformation, the church, which had been a universal community and organisation, became increasingly a part and organisation of the state. The chapter also describes the main trends of changes in education during Swedish rule, which in Finland lasted till 1809.
