On the Substitutability between Paid-employment and Self-employment: Evidence from the Period 1969–2014 in the United States

This paper provides estimates of the elasticity of substitution between operational and managerial jobs in the US economy during the years 1969–2014, derived from an aggregate CES production function. Estimating the long-term relationship between (the log of) the aggregate employment/self-employment ratio and (the log of) the returns from paid-employment relative to self-employment and testing for structural breaks, we report different estimates of the elasticity of substitution in each of the two regimes identified. Effects of marathon fatigue on running kinematics and economy

International audience; The influence of marathon fatigue on both running kinematics and economy was investigated with 8 subjects. The measurements included a treadmill test at 3 steady submaximal speeds performed before and after the marathon. One complete left leg cycle was videotaped at 100 Hz from the left side at each speed. The analysis included contact time (braking and push-off') and flight time as well as displacements and angular velocities of the left hip and knee. This analysis was complemented by the measurements of the electromyographic (EMG) activity of the gastrocnemius muscle at each running velocity, and energy expenditure (E) of the last 30.s at the 2 slowest speeds. Muscular fatigue is usually defined as the inability to maintain a given exercise intensity or adequate muscle force and therefore maximal isometric force, neural activation and fast force production capacity have often used determinants of acute fatigue. Background: Much is known about theoretical bases of different mechanical efficiency indices and effects of physiological and biomechanical factors to them. However, there are only a few studies available about practical bases and interactions between these efficiency indices, which were the aims of the present study. Największe sieciowe korporacje nie pozostały bierne wobec pojawiających się zmian i zaczęły doskonale wykorzystywać ludzkie przywiązanie do sieci. Komercyjny pęd doprowadził wręcz do uprzedmiotowienia człowieka i mierzenia jego wartości w kategoriach ekonomicznych. Kapitalizm odbił swe piętno na funkcjonowaniu sieci, ale sieć, rządząca się swoimi prawami, także zaczęła wpływać na formę tego systemu i ją uaktualniać. Staliśmy się świadkami ewolucji kapitalistycznego rynku i dezaktualizacji niektórych pojęć.
