Abstract Activation of the transcription factor PPARγ by the n-3 fatty acid docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is implicated in controlling proinflammatory cytokine secretion, but the intracellular signaling pathways engaged by PPARγ are incompletely characterized. Here, we identify the adapter-encoding gene SOCS3 as a critical transcriptional target of PPARγ. SOCS3 promoter binding and gene transactivation by PPARγ was associated with a repression in differentiation of proinflammatory T-helper (TH)17 cells. ABSTRACT As a treatment for leishmaniasis, miltefosine exerts direct toxic effects on the parasites. Miltefosine also modulates immune cells such as macrophages, leading to parasite elimination via oxidative radicals. Dendritic cells (DC) are critical for initiation of protective immunity against Leishmania through induction of Th1 immunity via interleukin 12 (IL-12). How credit ratings affect sovereign credit risk: cross-border evidence in Latin American emerging markets

This article builds upon previous literature by providing a better understanding of how contagion changes in bordering sovereign CDS emerging markets resulting from credit rating events. To that end, we follow the novel GVAR methodology using data from six Latin American emerging countries during an extensive sample period from 2004 to 2014. Our findings show evidence for the existence of significant and asymmetric cross-border effects. In particular, a competition effect is observed before the event occurs, indicating that non-event countries suffer (benefit) from upgrades (downgrades) in Brazil, Mexico and Chile (in Argentina and Brazil). Do sovereign ratings cause instability in cross-border emerging CDS markets?

We analyse the cross-border transmission effect of credit ratings on sovereign CDSs covering a broad sample of emerging countries during the period 2004 to 2015. This study differentiates between the spillover and competition effects between and within geographical areas of emerging countries. We find substantial evidence of cross-border effects with asymmetric responses to upgrades and downgrades. The market reaction differs across regions, reflecting how the international and local impact of rating events are due to different types of effects. Tirdzniecības atvērtības ietekme uz ekonomikas izaugsmi, CAE valstu empīriskais pētījums

Darba mērķis ir izpētīt tirdzniecības atvērtības ietekmi uz ekonomikas izaugsmi, izmantojot 16 Centrālās un Austrumeiropas valstu paneļa datus 2010. – 2019. gadā, salīdzinot 4 dažādus tirdzniecības atvērtības rādītājus. Apvienotie OLS un fiksētie efekti tiek izmantoti kā primārie novērtētāji, un noturības analīzei tiek izmantots sistēmas GMM tests. Apkopoto OLS un fiksēto šķērsgriezumu regresiju iegūtie rezultāti parāda, ka dažādos tirdzniecības atvērtības mērījumos tirdzniecības atvērtība pozitīvi un ļoti nozīmīgi ietekmē ekonomikas izaugsmi. GMM sistēmas testi parāda tirdzniecības atvērtības negatīvo ietekmi uz ekonomikas izaugsmi, bet nozīmīgumu ieguva tikai divi atvērtības rādītāji.
Spectral function for overoccupied gluodynamics from real-time lattice simulations

We study the spectral properties of a highly occupied non-Abelian non-equilibrium plasma appearing ubiquitously in weak coupling descriptions of QCD matter. The spectral function of this far-from-equilibrium plasma is measured by employing linear response theory in classical-statistical real-time lattice Yang-Mills simulations. We establish the existence of transversely and longitudinally polarized quasiparticles and obtain their dispersion relations, effective mass, plasmon frequency, damping rate and further structures in the spectral and statistical functions.
