Conflict Management and Negotiation in Family Business Succession: Critical Literature Review and research agenda

2017

This paper intends to stimulate a serious debate on the topic of conflict in family businesses and the theory of negotiation as a tool to resolve these conflicts. The methodology is based on the collection and systematization of the main literature on these topics. The study results show that, despite the literature on conflict management is highly developed as well as literature on family business, scholars and researchers have not yet deepened several areas of conflict management in family businesses, so the two fields of literature are yet not well integrated. The paper then proposes a research agenda identifying the issues and research gaps that should be explored by researchers in orde…

La personalidad artística de Vicente Castelló y Amat

1990

2021

Guianese culture and traditional music, here evoked, are various. It is more a transcultural process that, along centuries, gave an original result born in the Americas, in Guiana in this case. It is a form of refoundation, of recreation of cultures and new human beings generally called Creoles. The musical performance, that I study here, is the echo of social and cultural space of this reformulation of thought, life, and conception of the world. It is, as well, a mean of transposition and transformation of the values issued of diverse sources and categories. It is in no way a second-rate cultural practice, as it is the place where were born philosophies and actions for common life as well …

as it is the place where were born philosophies and actions for common life as well as for individual life. This organization of the musical experience requires several levels of readings to better understand the underlying performance that is the issue discussed here. What is then the subject of the musical performance in French Guianese traditional society? What are the implementation techniques and the intrinsic forms of knowledge? What is the creation process and for what goal? Without a doubtlifeUNESCO::CIENCIAS DE LAS ARTES Y LAS LETRASand conception of the world. Coupled petrological-geodynamical modeling of a compositionally heterogeneous mantle plume

2018

Abstract Self-consistent geodynamic modeling that includes melting is challenging as the chemistry of the source rocks continuously changes as a result of melt extraction. Here, we describe a new method to study the interaction between physical and chemical processes in an uprising heterogeneous mantle plume by combining a geodynamic code with a thermodynamic modeling approach for magma generation and evolution. We pre-computed hundreds of phase diagrams, each of them for a different chemical system. After melt is extracted, the phase diagram with the closest bulk rock chemistry to the depleted source rock is updated locally. The petrological evolution of rocks is tracked via evolving chemi…

Long-term dynamics of pelagic fish density and vendace (Coregonus albula (L.)) stocks in four zones of a lake differing in trawling intensity

2001

– An 11-year time series of hydroacoustic fish density estimates and fisheries statistics of vendace (Coregonus albula (L.)) from four zones of a lake differing in trawling intensity was analyzed in order to test the hypothesis that intensive trawling has detrimental effects on pelagic fish stocks, especially vendace recruitment. The standardized fish density estimate in trawled zones showed no decrease in comparison to the non-trawled zone. No signs of recruitment failure associable with trawling intensity were found. The growth of vendace at the end of the study period was slower than that at the beginning, indicating a higher density, most clearly so in the zone with highest trawling int…

A Look at Valencia’s Elections of the 28th of April and the 26th of May 2019

2020

This paper analyses the main features of the Valencian media coverage of the elections held in Spain in the Spring of 2019 (General, Regional, Municipal, and European elections). We shine a spotlight on the key themes covered by the main newspapers, radio and TV stations, and on the  campaign strategies parties used to define ideological blocs on the left and right.

Orthotrichum consobrinumCardot in Western Europe and South-Western Asia

2009

Abstract Orthotrichum consobrinum Cardot, a moss that was earlier considered an endemic to the Sino-Japanese Region, has been found in the north of the Iberian Peninsula (Spain) and in north-eastern Anatolia (Turkey). Comparison of Spanish and Turkish material with eastern Asiatic specimens revealed no relevant morphological differences, and the specimens from both disjunct populations showed the same range of variation of the species attributes. However, the morphological analysis has revealed some distinctive features of the species that had been overlooked in the past. An updated description of this Euro-Asiatic moss is provided here.

Do metric independent classical actions lead to topological field theories?

1991

Abstract We investigate the quantum theory of non-abelian BF -systems (gauge theories with the classical metric independent action ∫ tr BF A ). The fact that due to a complicated (on-shell reducible) gauge structure the quantum action of these theories does not differ only by a BRST commutator from the classical action, and that moreover the BRST operator turns out to be metric dependent, renders the standard arguments for metric independence inapplicable. We establish the topological nature of these models and argue that in gauge theories the information on gauge invariance is contained entirely in the metric independent part of the BRST operator. We make some general remarks on the relati…

Age and spatial structure of natural Pinus sylvestris stands in Latvia

2005

Abstract The age and spatial structure of six natural old growth Pinus sylvestris stands in Latvia were investigated, to attempt to identify retrospectively the past features of development. In each stand, one or two plots of size 200–900 m2 were established. Tree locations were mapped, stem diameter was measured, and tree age was determined from cores or by counting branch whorls. Tree distribution was assessed by Ripley's K function. A clumped spatial pattern was shown for P. sylvestris younger than 100 years. The temporal patterns of establishment could be partly linked to favourable climatic periods. The major disturbance affecting pine stands along the coast was windblown sand, which p…

The far south: the Pleistocene–Holocene transition in Nerja Cave (Andalucı́a, Spain)

2002

Abstract The archaeological site of Cueva de Nerja (Malaga, Spain) provides significant data about the bioclimatic conditions of one of the most southern European temperate regions. The bioclimatic and palaeogeographic changes that have occurred during the 20,000 years of human occupation of the site can be analysed by relating the geodynamic processes, the palaeobotany and the palaeofauna recovered from its archaeological deposits.
