Networked Bio-Inspired Evolutionary Dynamics on a Multi-Population

We consider a multi-population, represented by a network of groups of individuals. Every player of each group can choose between two options, and we study the problem of reaching consensus. The dynamics not only depend on the dynamics within the group, but they also depend on the topology of the network, so neighboring groups influence individuals as well. First, we develop a mathematical model of this networked bio-inspired evolutionary behavior and we study its steady-state. We look at the special case where the underlying network topology is a regular and unweighted graph and show that the steady-state is a consensus equilibrium. On stability of linear dynamic systems with hysteresis feedback

The stability of linear dynamic systems with hysteresis in feedback is considered. While the absolute stability for memoryless nonlinearities (known as Lure's problem) can be proved by the well-known circle criterion, the multivalued rate-independent hysteresis poses significant challenges for feedback systems, especially for proof of convergence to an equilibrium state correspondingly set. The dissipative behavior of clockwise input-output hysteresis is considered with two boundary cases of energy losses at reversal cycles. In particular, a hybrid control scheme is proposed to encompass a control law and an observer for the estimation of the system states, based only on the measurements of the input and output voltages. Non-linear active disturbance rejection control for upper limb rehabilitation exoskeleton

Trajectory tracking in upper limb rehabilitation exercises is utilized for repeatability of joint movement to improve the patient’s recovery in the early stages of rehabilitation. In this article, non-linear active disturbance rejection control as a combination of non-linear extended-state observer and non-linear state error feedback is used for the sinusoidal trajectory tracking control of the two-link model of an upper limb rehabilitation exoskeleton. A model for torque losses in variable displacement axial piston motors

This paper includes a comparison of earlier presented models for torque losses in hydraulic motors and several proposed models that all rely on data typically available for a system engineer. The new models and the old ones are compared. The new models are all based on a model developed by Jeong 2007 with an expansion that include variable displacement. All of the new models yield very good accuracy down to approximately 50% of maximum displacement and down to approximately 15% of maximum speed. This paper presents a case study of electrical machine faults, emerging in heat pump systems. In Nordic countries, heat pumps have been gaining popularity during the past years and have become one of the leading ways of heating in households and smaller public buildings. Although not a very complicated setup, the devices used are still prone to unexpected failures, especially if wrongly chosen, installed or maintained. Hybrid State Feedback Position-Force Control of Hydraulic Cylinder

A hybrid position-force control is proposed using a unified state feedback controller in combination with feedforward dead-zone compensation. Dead-zone compensator was constructed as inverse of the identified static map while the state feedback gains were obtained using a numerical optimization routine. An accurate state-space model affine in states and control, derived in a previous work, was used for closed-loop simulations and control tuning.
