On the Syntax of Fronted Adverbial Clauses in Two Tyrolean Dialects: The Distribution of Resumptive Semm

Abstract This chapter discusses adverbial resumption in two Tyrolean dialects, Meranese and Mòcheno, which represent two privileged environments for investigations on microvariation. We show that certain classes of fronted adverbials are resumed in both languages by the resumptive element semm (lit. “there, then”), which behaves semantically like a generalized resumptive because it is used with a variety of adverbial clauses. However, unlike the Norwegian generalized resumptive studied by Christine Meklenborg, semm is a maximal category and cannot resume nominal arguments. Iron (Fe) is an essential element for all eukaryotic organisms because it functions as a cofactor in a wide range of biochemical processes. Cells have developed sophisticated mechanisms to tightly control Fe utilization in response to alterations in cellular demands and bioavailability. Ūdeņu ķīmijas pētījumiem ir liela nozīme, jo ūdens ir viens no nepieciešamākajiem resursiem cilvēkiem. Ūdens ķīmiskais sastāvs nosaka ūdens kvalitāti, kuru ir jāpārzina, lai pārvaldītu, racionāli izmantotu un aizsargātu ūdeņus. Latvijas virszemes ūdeņu ķīmisko sastāvu ietekmē dažādi faktori – ģeogrāfiskais novietojums, teritorijas ģeoloģiskā uzbūve, klimats, hidroloģiskie, ģeoķīmiskie procesi un antropogēnā darbība. Lielākoties Mūsas upes ūdeņu ķīmiskais sastāvs veidojas Lietuvā. Upes garums Latvijā ir vien 20 km no kopējiem 164 km un baseina lielums Latvijā ir vien 2 % no kopējās baseina platības. International audience; Purpose: This double-blind study investigated the effects of vitamin and mineral complex supplementation on the neuromuscular function of the knee-extensor muscles after a prolonged trail running race. Methods: Twenty-two well-trained endurance runners took either placebo (Pl group) or vitamins and minerals (Vm group) for 21 d before the race and for 2 d after the race.
