<title>Achieving high performances at lower cost for real-time image rotation by using dynamic reconfiguration</title>

FPGA components are widely used today to perform various algorithms (digital filtering) in real time. The emergence of Dynamically Reconfigurable (DR) FPGAs made it possible to reduce the number of necessary resources to carry out an image processing application (tasks chain). We present in this article an image processing application (image rotation) that exploits the FPGA's dynamic reconfiguration feature. A comparison is undertaken between the dynamic and static reconfiguration by using two criteria, cost and performance criteria. For the sake of testing the validity of our approach in terms of Algorithm and Architecture Adequacy , we realized an AT40K40 based board ARDOISE.

Modeling wave propagation in elastic solids via high-order accurate implicit-mesh discontinuous Galerkin methods

A high-order accurate implicit-mesh discontinuous Galerkin framework for wave propagation in single-phase and bi-phase solids is presented. The framework belongs to the embedded-boundary techniques and its novelty regards the spatial discretization, which enables boundary and interface conditions to be enforced with high-order accuracy on curved embedded geometries. High-order accuracy is achieved via high-order quadrature rules for implicitly-defined domains and boundaries, whilst a cell-merging strategy addresses the presence of small cut cells. Evaluation of an Alternative for Increasing Switch Radix

In large switch-based interconnection networks, increasing the switch radix results in a decrease in the total number of network components. In this paper we evaluate an interesting strategy for building high-radix switches going beyond the integration scale bounds. This approach is independent of the evolution of single-chip switches and will remain valid as integration scale keeps evolving. Simulation results show that with a correct internal switch design, this kind of switches achieves almost the same performance as single-chip switches with the same radix, which would be unfeasible with current integration scale.

The interconnection network is one of the most important multicomputer components, since it has a great impact on global system performance. Many models and simulators have been proposed to evaluate network performance. This paper presents SimuRed, an event-driven flit-level, cycle-accurate simulator to evaluate different orthogonal network configurations.
