Supravital Uptake of Cationic Dyes by Mast Cell Granules: A Light and Electron Microscope Study

Methylene blue and neutral red were selected for staining mast cell granules by supravital injections. A new technique was applied for embedding in paraffin and Araldite without dislocation or loss of dye. Stabilization and electron microscopic identification of the dyes were achieved by transforming them into electron-dense precipitates using phosphomolybdic acid dissolved in a paraformaldehyde-glutaraldehyde mixture to preserve the ultrastructure of the tissues. Time trends of human papillomavirus types in invasive cervical cancer, from 1940 to 2007.

Contribution over time of human papillomavirus (HPV) types in human cancers has been poorly documented. Such data is fundamental to measure current HPV vaccines impact in the years to come. We estimated the HPV type-specific distribution in a large international series of invasive cervical cancer (ICC) over 70 years prior to vaccination. Paraffin embedded ICC cases diagnosed between 1940 and 2007 were retrieved from eleven countries in Central-South America, Asia and Europe. Neuronal ceroid-lipofuscinosis--late-infantile or Jansky-Bielschowsky type--revisited.

Among the now eight genetic types of neuronal ceroid-lipofuscinoses (NCL), CLN1 to CLN8, CLN2 is considered classic late-infantile NCL. It was originally described by Janský in a family of eight children with four of them affected [Janský J (1908) Sborn Lek 13:165-196] and, subsequently, by Bielschowsky in a family of three children each of whom was affected, and, hence, termed Janský-Bielschowsky type of NCL. Noninvasive monitoring of polymer curing reactions by dielectrometry

A microwave sensor system for the noninvasive monitoring of the curing process of a thermoset material placed inside a metallic mold is described. The microwave sensor is designed as an open-ended coaxial resonator with a curved surface adapted to the mold inner shape. The analysis of the microwave resonator comprises a recently developed method for deembedding the effect of coupling network in overcoupled resonators, so the range of permitted measurements encompass both low and high dielectric losses of polymeric materials. On Spaces of Bochner and Pettis Integrable Functions and Their Set-Valued Counterparts

The aim of this paper is to give a brief summary of the Pettis and Bochner integrals, how they are related, how they are generalized to the set-valued setting and the canonical Banach spaces of bounded maps between Banach spaces that they generate. System-environment correlations and Markovian embedding of quantum non-Markovian dynamics

We study the dynamics of a quantum system whose interaction with an environment is described by a collision model, i.e. the open dynamics is modelled through sequences of unitary interactions between the system and the individual constituents of the environment, termed "ancillas", which are subsequently traced out. In this setting non-Markovianity is introduced by allowing for additional unitary interactions between the ancillas. For this model, we identify the relevant system-environment correlations that lead to a non-Markovian evolution. SU(6) Grand Unification of 3-3-1 Model

We discuss a sequential variant of the \(\mathrm { SU(3)_c \times SU(3)_L \times U(1)_X}\) model which fits within a minimal SU(6) grand unification. Interestingly, this minimal SU(6) embedding can allow a \(\mathrm { SU(3)_c \times SU(3)_L \times U(1)_X}\) symmetry breaking scale within the reach of LHC and with seesaw-type neutrino masses.
