A burgeoning body of literature exists in relation to the role of social networks in connecting migrant workers with employment opportunities, particularly in lower wage jobs. La formation professionnelle est rarement abordée du point de vue de la personne qui se forme. Pourquoi et comment des salariés se décident-ils à suivre une formation financée par leur employeur ? De nombreux témoignages recueillis dans dix-sept entreprises mettent en évidence la persistance de certaines inégalités au détriment des femmes : une moindre diversité des stages, une plus grande proportion d'actions de courte durée et peu diplômantes, un moindre accès à la formation notamment pour le personnel ouvrier, mais aussi un manque de propositions et d'informations et, un certain oubli des contraintes familiales dans l'organisation des stages.

Factors contributing brand attitude in advergames: Entertainment and irritation

The main contribution of this article is to offer new insights into the antecedents of brand attitude in an advergaming context, focusing on entertainment and irritation as its main drivers. Also, the indirect effect of intrusiveness and congruence on brand attitude is analyzed. A structured questionnaire was completed by a sample of 100 undergraduate and postgraduate students after playing to a real casual advergame. The results show that entertainment is the main driver of brand attitude although irritation also exerts a significant effect on brand attitude due to perceived intrusiveness that, in turn, is determined by incongruence. Seniority rules, worker mobility and wages : evidence from multi-country linked employer-employee data

We construct multi-country employer-employee data to examine the consequences of last-in, first-out rules. We identify the effects by comparing worker exit rates between different units of the same firms operating in Sweden and Finland, two countries that have different seniority rules. We observe a relatively lower exit rate for more senior workers in Sweden in the shrinking firms and among the low-wage workers. These empirical patterns are consistent with last-in, first-out rules in Sweden providing protection from dismissals for the more senior workers among the worker groups to whom the rules are most relevant.
