A Co-monosubstituted Keggin polyoxometalate with an antenna ligand and three cobalt(II) chains as counterion

Abstract A Co-monosubstituted Keggin polyoxometalate with an antenna ligand linked to the Co(II) center with a Co(II)-containing cation has been prepared. The title compound, formulated as {Co(H 2 O) 4 (4,4′-bpy)} 2 (4,4′-Hbpy) 2 [SiW 11 Co(4,4′-bpy)O 39 ] · 5H 2 O ( 1 ) (4,4′-bpy = 4,4′-bipyridine), was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, TG analysis, X-ray single crystal structure analysis and magnetic measurements. As far as we know, the title compound represents the first Co(II) substituted Keggin polyoxometalate with an antenna ligand structurally and magnetically characterized.

This review presents the synthetic aspects and photophysical properties of trimeric systems constructed with a first unit consisting of a cofacial porphyrin and then of another porphyrin attached as a side arm. Two scenarios are dealt with. The first one is the case where the three chromophores are different, called donor 1–donor 2–acceptor, specifically where the cofacial fragment is composed of donor 1 and donor 2, and the side arm is the acceptor. They are considered as models for the apo-proteins used in the LH II (light harvesting device) in the purple photosynthetic bacteria. B,B-Diporphyrinbenzyloxy-BODIPY derivatives have been prepared in high yields, and the photophysical properties are reported. Singlet energy transfers from BODIPY to the porphyrin units have been analyzed.

Jatkuvasti kansainvälistyvässä maailmassa, jossa kulttuurienvälisillä kohtaamisilla voi olla kauaskantoisiakin seurauksia, on tärkeää olla tietoinen taustalla vaikuttavista asenteista. Tässä tutkielmassa kartoitetaan kuvaa, joka suomalaisissa viidennen ja kuudennen luokan maantiedon oppikirjoissa annetaan ihmisistä Euroopan ulkopuolella. Tutkielma on tehty sisällönanalyysin keinoin. Selkeiden stereotyyppisten kuvien lisäksi pyritään löytämään myös piileviä, vähemmän selviä stereotypioita. Kunto- ja urheilutestauksessa halutaan usein selvittää henkilön aerobinen ja anaerobinen kynnys. Kynnykset voidaan jakaa määrityksessä käytettyjen muuttujien mukaan ventilaatio- ja laktaattikynnyksiin. Kynnykset ilmiönä ovat kiistanalaisia ja haasteellisia. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin kirjallisuudesta löytyviä aerobisen ja anaerobisen kynnyksen määritysmenetelmiä ja niiden soveltuvuutta suomalaiseen kuntotestausprotokollaan. Tutkimuksessa testattiin 12 kynnysmääritysmenetelmää, joista yksi oli kirjallisuudesta löytynyt, kahdeksan oli löytyneistä jatkokehitettyjä ja kolme uusia menetelmiä. In this thesis, we consider solving computationally expensive multiobjective optimization problems that take into account the preferences of a decision maker (DM). The aim is to support the DM in identifying the most preferred solution for problems that have several conflicting objectives and when the evaluation of the candidate solutions is time consuming. This is conducted by replacing computationally expensive functions with computationally inexpensive functions, known as surrogates. Freedom and responsibility in Avicenna

It is still a matter of some debate whether Avicenna grounds moral responsibility in a robust notion of free will. In this contribution, I will first delve into Avicenna’s theory of voluntary agency, arguing that he holds voluntary agency to be responsive to reasons but also thoroughly determined by the agent’s beliefs concerning the relevant goals, instruments, and qualifying circumstances. Since these beliefs in turn are caused, it seems that there is little room for a causally undetermined will in Avicenna’s theory. I will conclude by considering the question of whether Avicenna is some kind of compatibilist concerning the relation between determinism and responsibility. peerReviewed

Darba mērķis - Noskaidrot diennkats darba ietekmi uz internās aprūpes māsas fizisko un psihoemocionālo pašsajūtu. Uzsākot darbu tiek izvirzīts pētījuma jautājums: “Kāda ir diennakts darba ietekme uz internās aprūpes māsas fizisko un psihoemocionālo pašsajūtu?”. Darba veikšanā izmantota kvalitatīvā pētījuma metode – intervijas. Pētījumā piedalījās 7 respondenti- Internās aprūpes māsas, kuras strādā diennakts dežūrās. Intervijas tika veiktas attālināti izmantojot e-pastu. Pētījuma rezultātā tiek sasniegts darba mērķis un sniegta atbilde uz pētījuma jautājumu. Māsas darba rezultātā …
