The Role of Anticipatory Emotions and their Contagiousness in an IS Project

2020

The previous research has shown increasing interest in understanding anticipatory emotions and their contagion, which can happen in dyads or groups as well as in other settings in organizations. The role of anticipatory emotions and their behavioral effects remain unexplored in IS projects. To address the research gap, we conducted a qualitative and longitudinal case study in order to understand what arethe role and consequences of the anticipatory emotions in IS project work, and how their contagiousness emerges over time. Adopting a model of group emotional contagion as a theoretical lens provided us with an opportunity to explain the relationship between anticipatory emotions and emotion…

Social Desirability Bias among Prejudice Instruments : An Integrated Threat

2019

A considerable amount of research has examined the extent to which members of dominant cultures perceive minority groups as threatening their way of life. While various instruments measure these perceptions of threat, few researchers have empirically analysed the statistical properties of these scales. Specifically, studies have not adequately explored social desirability of threat scales. The current study investigates the extent to which one set of threat scales is internally consistent or reliable (González et al., 2008), and explores social desirability within the González et al. (2008) integrated threat instruments by comparing self-reports to other reports (intimate other and friend r…

Gli oscuri turiboli del simbolo. Penna e d'Annunzio

2022

In the interpretation of his trained readers Sandro Penna has been the object of a great misunderstanding. For a long time his relationship with the greatest poetical works of his time has been hidden; it happened the same with the authors he could read during a long training. The most recent studies about Penna’s intertextuality focused on citations, limiting themselves to compiling a register, without considering the long duration of international cultural processes to which Penna himself refers. The name of Gabriele d’Annunzio is that of a certain actor among these processes, dealing above all with the poetics of symbol.

The Photocycle of Bacteriophytochrome Is Initiated by Counterclockwise Chromophore Isomerization.

2022

Photoactivation of bacteriophytochrome involves a cis–trans photoisomerization of a biliverdin chromophore, but neither the precise sequence of events nor the direction of the isomerization is known. Here, we used nonadiabatic molecular dynamics simulations on the photosensory protein dimer to resolve the isomerization mechanism in atomic detail. In our simulations the photoisomerization of the D ring occurs in the counterclockwise direction. On a subpicosecond time scale, the photoexcited chromophore adopts a short-lived intermediate with a highly twisted configuration stabilized by an extended hydrogen-bonding network. Within tens of picoseconds, these hydrogen bonds break, allowing the c…

The Burnout Syndrome Connection with Coping Strategies and 24h Shift Work for Nurses During Covid-19

2021

Images of Japan and the Japanese : the representations of the Japanese culture in the popular literature targeted at the Western World in the 1980s-1…

2002

This study draws together a number of popular issues: images, intercultural communication and Japan. In particular, Japan has been a popular topic for at least the last three decades. The Japanese Economical Miracle awoke a real boom in the Western literature at the end of 1970s, and in the 1980s the Miracle became a fashionable topic in the Western world. Because of this a great amount of studies, books and articles is available for those who want to learn about this nation. The aim of this study is to examine “images of Japan and the Japanese in the Western world” on the basis of the literature targeted at Western audiences during the big boom. Mari Suvanto selvittää väitöstutkimuksessaan…
