Old Frisian skalk: A ‘Servant’ or a ‘Rogue’?

The Old Frisian wordscalc, scalch, schalcis usually used in the sense of ‘servant, slave’. However, the word evidences a pejoration in meaning, being also attested in the Frisian written tradition in the sense of ‘ill-mannered person, villain, a bad guy’. The investigation of the occurrences ofskalk–along with a comparison of its Germanic cognates–will allow us to draw a picture of the semantic development of this word from medieval times to the Modern stage of the Frisian language. Tēlainas valodas elementi TED prezentācijās

Šī bakalaura darba mērķis bija atklāt, kāds ir iemesls, kāpēc epiteti, metaforas un hiperbolas tiek izmantotas TED prezentācijās, kas tālāk iedalās kādu epitetu un metaforu veidi tika izmantoti šajās prezentācijās, un atklāt, kad šie trīs specifiskie tēlainas valodas elementi tiek izmantoti. Izpētot šī pētījuma teorētisko daļu, kas sastāvēja no vairāku autoru sniegtajām definīcijām, tika secināts, ka šie trīs tēlainas valodas elementi publiskajās runās veic ievērojamu lomu, pievienojot tēlainību, vērš uzmanību un izplata informāciju. Un pēc daudzu TED prezentāciju videoierakstu novērošanas, divdesmit no tām tika izvēlētas tālākai izmeklēšanai, kur kļuva skaidrs, ka visi no tiem ietver vairā…
